True but now I'm just so fucking curious as to who the next lead will be.
Will we get to chose from different races or something? Is it another human?
I must know
Oh really when?
The shifty looking cow
Conrad Verner, the only worthy successor, who must gather fanboys/girls of Shepard's original crew to defeat the new hanar menace.
...Will he continue his romance with Jena?

PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheyI have a feeling we're going to be getting cameos from a lot of squad members. Or at least mentions. Have the devs said what time period it would be? I know we're pretty sure it's going to be a sequel rather than a prequel or interquel (though last I checked it wasn't confirmed), but have they given more detail?
It's disrespectful to call it Mass Effect 4. The creators specifically requested to not call it that.
They haven't really offered an alternative, though.
Well what the hell else am I supposed to call it?
It is the fourth main installment in the Mass Effect series, therefore, calling it "ME 4" is perfectly valid.
And I don't recall anyone from Bio Ware ever saying "Please don't call it ME 4! If you do it will deeply offend us." If they did, then that's just ridiculous.
It's just shorthand. There's nothing "disrespectful" about it.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."Joking. :P
Knowing EA they won't greenlight a game without a human protagonist (even if multiple races will be avaiable), because apparently games only sell if the cover has a gruff-looking male soldier slowly walking into the camera...That will stand out !
Knowing that, we will have a good chance of seeing familiar faces: Wrex ,Liara ,Samara and their families all have a 1000 years of live-expectations and EDI is downright immortal.
Not if Destroy has any say in it!
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.Which is why I hope the game isn't a direct sequel. I picked Sythesis because I didn't want to fuck with the Joker/EDI relationship that had been building since the second game as well as mercilessly killing the geth after I helped build a peace between them and killing off a 300-year old war.
Acceptable losses. And I never let Joker screw the ship's AI in the first place (until Citadel auto-dialogue forced me to support it).
Do we even know that it's going to be set after 3? Bioware repeatedly said that 3 would always be the chronological end of the franchise. While they haven't repeated that in a while, they haven't contradicted it either.
...Yeah setting it after 3 would be problematic, too variables and the like.
My guess it'll be set around the timeframe of 2 or maybe in the 2 years Sheperd was out.
Or however long she was locked up after blowing up the relay
Oh really when? They can't really fit a game with a human protagonist in before the first game and still have it be in the same style as the first 3 with regards to big choices. Maybe if they've been around a while, but first contact between Humans and the Citadel species happened when Ashley's grandfather was alive. Unless they go for a very different type of story.
They can just have a much smaller scale story set on one multi-species Terminus planet. The main trilogy often downplayed how big the galaxy really is.
...Personally, I'm hoping for something taking place not long after the events of the 3rd game, hopefully dealing with the aftermath. The one problem I see with this is that it necessitates picking one of the 3 endings, since having a) a bunch of friendly reapers, b)No more artificial life or c)drastically altering the bodies of every being in the galaxy lead to pretty divergent story lines.
They've already stated it's gonna be a sequel, haven't they?
Hey CPF Mfan, what the hell is that thing you're using as an avatar?

A Combine Advisor from Half-Life 2. Basically, a post-Singularity Starfish Alien. That looks like a giant cybernetically enhanced grub. With telekinesis.
Where have they stated that? All official statements I've seen say the opposite.

...They haven't stated it would be a sequel (or anything), but they did a poll, and it was overwhelmingly in favor of a sequel. So obviously they can easily ignore that if they choose, but I'm pretty sure it was an official poll, so it's not like it was some random thing one fan came up with.
Everyone, including me, started wondering if it was a sequel when someone who saw some concept art speculated it was. Mainly based off there being two new species. I suppose one can be the Raoli, but if this isn't a sequel, what can the other one be?
...Mhh though from the discription alone that one race sounded like the statues on Illos.

Doesn't make me any less sad to see them go
