Tamako Market.

So apparenlty this is the new anime of Kyo Ani.

Because of my recent obssesion with Hyouka I decided to give this a try aldo I am not the most fervent Kyo Ani admirer.

The show seems like it could have a lot of potentional but then once again I guess the whole SOL thing is getting slightly tiring, and besides the bird this show introduces seems kinda pointless. As somebody in other forum said it could be the Jar Jar Blings of Kyo Ani. Nontheless it is extremely well animated so Ill stick around to see how it progresses.

I also started working on the TV Tropes page but I am kinda new so I really havent listed any examples. If someone could direct me as to where can I post for help?

Yeah, I would have thought the market and large cast could end up being interesting.

But the bird seems a weird addition. And not even a particularly welcome one, as the strange bit you'd expect him to be the thing that made the show more appealing than an average slice of life show.

The ED is catchy though.

It's hard not to imagine Kayneth everytime the Cockatoo talks, honestly... Which makes some scenes more hilarious that they SHOULD be.

I like the bird, he reminds me of a less aggravating Excalibur. The whole show is a lot quirkier than the previews led me to believe, and I hope it stays that way.

Also, I really, really want to eat some mochi now.

The bird is a pure walking comedy. It's a bit strange how he's sharing the spotlight time with Tamako and the other humans, but I'll make do with it for now.

I have been thinking a bit with the characters' names.

Watched the first episode on TAN for kicks, and...

I like the bird, he reminds me of a less aggravating Excalibur.

[up] Your local supermarket may have some mochi ice cream in their freezers. It's not the same thing, but you can get an idea for what it's like. If there's a frozen yogurt place in your area, those may have small pieces of mochi as a topping as well.

Anyways, great show as expected. The bird is absolutely hilarious, as is everyone's reactions to him.

Wow, lots of people are liking the bird? Have to say I still find him annoying.

[up][up] The mochi that covers ice cream is harder - texture reminds me of fondant. The mochi's that shown in the show right now would be softer, more gooey. Having trouble thinking of a Western dessert with similar texture...

I hate Dera about as much as much as Anko does, if not moreso.

I'm finding this to be OK aside from that, but if the bird doesn't learn to shut up, I'm dropping this.

This. The show could be enjoyable enough without the bird (aldo it would be very very generic)

But if this doesnt come up with something better than the annoying bird chances are I´ll drop it.

Too bad because I am liking all the other caracthers.

Also this anime reminds me, for some reason of, Manga: Soredemo Machi Wa Mawatteiru

It reminds me of a more moe, less surreal Soremachi as well. Maybe because they both take place in a sort of shopping center with a varied cast of potential weirdos?

Yea. I am not saying they are all that similar. But there is something about it that reminded me that show.

The intro is very similar, I mean, the music, so maybe that was it.

Episode 1: So yeah, nice. Kyo Ani, SOL, you know the drill.

But then there's the bird. I'll probably warm up to him later on especially when his deal with the prince gets explored more, but right now he is an unnecessary quirky animal thing in a cast of characters that can stand well enough on their own.

Catchy ED, will listen to it again. Like right now.

Fairly certain the "bird looking for a bride for his prince" is a refeence to some fairytale?

Well, this is a weird one. I've got to keep watching!

I really want to find out what the deal is with Dela's previous humans (prince?). Dela was cuter before he got all fat...Also the ending theme is extremely cute in a more subdued, mellow way than the rest of the anime.

P.s. a moe series with important male characters with actual screentime? That's just crazy.

I guess this is Nichijou and Chuunibyou type of Kyoani show, quirky, weird characters do weird things, love the bird by the way. Other than that, I felt nostalgic. One of the characters in the beginning looks like [[K-On! Yui]], the opening looks like the beginning of "The Adventures of Mikuru Asahina", the bird reminded me Sakamoto. I hope it won't turn into something dramatic.

I'm also surprised that there is already a sequel: http://vndb.org/v7836

[up][up] I thought this was heavier on the straightforward slice of life than either of those shows. Both Chu2 and Nichijou are more pervasively subversive.
