I think they're there, but they're hard to see. It does sort of illustrate part of the trope, since it suggests what kind of ripples the trope is about. Very, very weak, though.
Got a better suggestion?
Check out my fanfiction! If we could get a better-quality version of that pic, it would be an improvement.
The previous thread timed out...and I see that Stratadrake started it, for the exact same reason.

Clock is set.
Can we grab something off a GIS that's got ripples, or is that cheating since it likely wouldn't be an actual example in-context?
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.I think that would be worse than the current one. The current one at least shows what isn't part of the name, so it gives a tiny bit of context, whereas an image of just some ripples wouldn't add at all to the title.
Check out my fanfiction!I find it interesting how hard it is to illustrate the simplest of motions with static images.
There was a behind the scenes segment (not this one) for Jurassic Park on how they plucked a cable along the bottom of a car to get the perfect water-movement just for the visual effect of the ripples in the cup. Maybe one of the storyboard sketches would work?◊
How about we make this multi-imaged?
1. Just a normal glass of water.
2. Shaking water.
3. Threat appears.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.Or how about an image of people looking fearfully at the ripples by itself and avoid ugly multi panel clutter?
This one has the cups a little out of focus◊ so it might not work.
If there's a shot of the cups rippling that can be paired with that pic, that would work beautifully.
I like the storyboard image.
The Revolution Will Not Be Tropeable@just - Although I know the context (I have to; watched the movie like 18 times by now XD), I can't see the rippling part so I am not sure if that is a good shot.
I still think that it would be slightly difficult to show it in one image.

I see the glass of water, but ... where are the ripples?
