I don't think it's an improvement.
Check out my fanfiction! How does this:
Say "As the power of an evil creature increases, they become more of a large, disfigured abomination — until they cross the Bishonen Line, beyond which as they gain more power, they (re)gain humanoid form." any better?
The last one is the most humanoid.
Check out my fanfiction! They're all humanoid, while still being weird and freakish. It's pretty unclear.
Most.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan. The first one doesn't have a mouth, the second one looks like the Creature From The Black Lagoon, and the last looks mostly humanoid with a sort of crown.

Check out my fanfiction! It's a clear transition from a completely alien-looking creature to something that is at least reasonably human-like, at least in the face. With that, I'm voting Keep Until Better Image Suggested...the suggestion is good but not necessarily a staggering improvement.
Clock is set.
New picture is greatly superior, though the size is an issue.
I think the new picture is greatly inferior. It doesn't suggest a transition from multiple stages, the last one being the most human. It suggests some sort of weird mutation thing to some sort of angel thing. The Cell one has a clear transition to more and more humanoid, which makes it obvious what we're supposed to be looking at.
In fact, looking at the new picture and the title did not help me to guess what trope this was—once I saw the Cell picture I knew what it meant. This one just confused me.
Cell > MGDMT
Moon◊Wait, are 3 supposed to all be the same character?
The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableI like Cell, though Arrows could make it clearer
Yes. By strength, from weaker (Less humanoid) on top, to strongest (Most humanoid) at the bottom

Arrows might help, but I don't think they're necessary.
Especially as the caption does the pointing.
Check out my fanfiction!Clock's up; locking for inactivity/lack of consensus. No action is to be taken based on this thread.
Current image is pretty bad. I suggest this, from Manly Guys Doing Manly Things:
