Eh, lower has more focus on the blood, but worse image quality. Also, a personl lying on the ground is weaker.

Edit: I think the lower one seems to be more about busted teeth than anything else.

I prefer the upper one. It's more clearly about the blood — the character is trying to catch/stem it and it's in the center of the image, rather than being a passive indicator that the character isn't exactly doing too well.
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.
