It was launched and then cut and then later auto-unlocked. The TRS thread would have been the proper location to ask the question, or, barring that, Trope Talk. This isn't a cleanup effort; it's a question regarding a single trope.
I didn't put this in TRS because:
- A No room in TRS
- B Found the YKTTW, and problem might be there.
Found the YKTTW. Added a post to bump it. Didn't see it near the top.
PS. Did it again. Not to be found where it should be. Says on it it has been launched. Does that mean anything?

Ask on Ask The Tropers for an unlaunch.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanSeptimus, the trope was launched and then cut. And the page is (somehow—I didn't read that closely) involved in an ongoing TRS thread; it probably should be dealt with through that thread (as I pointed out in my first post).
That is a YKTTW link, Nocturna.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanTRS thread. It's linked right on the discussion page.
Can't see this page in that thread. And regardless, this still goes into that thread.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard Feynman@6 Tried it. No response.
Over the weekend, there is usually less activity.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanIt's a type of Fight Scene. Fight Scenes are tropes. This is a subtrope involving mass amounts of fighter craft for visual effects awesome.
Fight smart, not fair. The name seems terrible. "Fur Balls"?
eta: From the name, I was guessing that this was basically Big Ball of Violence.

Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee. It's a term I've heard used to describe dog fights, it just seemed more common in stuff like Ace Combat.
Fight smart, not fair. When I've seen it used elsewhere, it was usually done as "furballs", not "fur balls" (how it would render in the wiki if the page existed, without any custom titling to change it to something else).
Also tends to cut down on testicle jokes from people only half-right in thinking they're wits, when rendered as one word.
All your safe space are belong to TrumpWell, it was originally titled Dog Fighting/Furballs with a slash, but it didn't register in the code and it somehow got launched as both. The name is not so great, but I think the core of the trope, a massive dog fight scene is a legitimate form of the Fight Scene.
Fight smart, not fair.I've never heard the term "furballs" (with or without a space) used in the context of airplanes. It's a common term to refer to actual dogs (and other small, furry creatures). So, the first thing I think of when I see the name is actual dog-fighting—the sort of thing that American Football player Michael Vick was imprisoned for a few years back—not the metaphoric term for airplane fights. In fact, the term "dog-fighting" is extremely ambiguous, and adding the term "fur ball" is likely to resolve that ambiguity in the wrong direction for most people.
Even Urban Dictionary turns up no relationship between the term "furball" and airplanes. There's even a video game named Fur Ball, according to The Other Wiki, and it's about cats, not planes.
While this may be a perfectly valid trope, IMO, the name has to go.
Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee.Well, does anyone know how to get the YKTTW resumed or restarted. That's a better place, if my bumping registers.
If it was a bad launch, Eddie himself will have to unlaunch. Ask The Tropers is probably the best place for that.
Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee.spacemarine already asked there. It's that Eddie didn't see that the YKTTW is in fact launched.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanBump. Now what?
It is a legit trope, but if I recall correctly, there was something of a miscommunication between the folks involved about what to call it that resulted in the page being cut. I thought it had been fixed by now, but I guess not.
I typed "furballs" into Google. The point is not whether or not a specialized audience will recognize the name—the point is that a general audience will be confused by the name. Therefore, looking up specialized sources is less useful than simply typing the word into Google.
Heck, if the Other Wiki and Urban Dictionary both turn up nothing on the term, I think it's definitely too specialized of jargon for us.
Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee.
Found it's YKTTW. Says it was launched, but all I see is a start-a-new-page message and a laconic. What happened? Link: Dog Fighting Fur Balls YKTTW: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/discussion.php?id=jd6y8b0gb6uxwxiix7tgafgs
