Man, Mars having water is still something that amazes me.
Imagine how things would have been if life had developed there at the same time it did here.
Oh really when?Maybe it did...

Happy Birthday, spaceflight era.
Schild und Schwert der ParteiIf you want some entertaining Soviet space project stuff, you should look up the Missing Cosmonauts. Sure, it's a conspiracy theory that is not backed by any evidence, but it's entertaining because it's almost-almost-plausible, and there's some doctored evidence that is actually pretty cool. (Alleged recordings of radio transmissions by Soviet cosmonauts that died during their missions and were consequently erased from the official records and never publicised.)

Happy Yuri's night, shhhh I know I was late.
IT BEGINS
The lunar eclipse that is.
Why am I excited? Cause I am.
"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."Yeah, I'm travelling for work, but my hotel has a rooftop bar/restaurant and it's perfect for watching the eclipse. I'm not quite hardcore enough to say up there for the entire thing, but I'll definitely be going up a few times to check its progress.
Really from Jupiter, but not an alien.Where can you see it from?
Oh really when?Moon eclipses that are total eclipses can be seen from everywhere you can see the Moon.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanAwesome, too bad I've got a big fucking tree in the way of the moon.
I'll probably see later
Oh really when? Here is a link which has a map on who can see the eclipse.
Those who can see the full eclipse:
- All of North America excluding eastern Canada, extreme North Eastern U.S., and Alaska.
- Western Caribbeanto about the center of Hispaniola.
- Hawaii
- Western South America, including Chile (obviously).
I'd be happy, except it is cloudy in my area.
New Zealand, Eastern Australia and places north of them are going to be able to see at least part of the eclipse. If I'm reading that map right we'll still be in totality as the moon rises.
Which is actually kind of cool when you think about it. How often do you get to mix total lunar eclipse with the horizon effect?
Looks like the weather has cleared in SE QLD (or at least where I am) enough for a good view but another hour (approx) from time of writing until moon rise.
I was going to see it, but I have an exam early this morning. And of course a snow-storm rolls in.
Not Three Laws compliant.Cloudy skies across the South again. . . I swear the weather itself is plotting to obstruct every nifty event from being see. For all of the eclipses that have happened I think I've only seen one on a clear night.
Not only was it overcast... it freaking snowed last night!!! Oh, God I hate where I live.

Who watches the watchmen?Juno's solar panels are an interesting new development. Are they going to be standard from now on?
Dunno. If they find a better way to do it they likely will change it.
I followed the reference link to the original site It is even cooler and looks to have more details.
