Murata spend several chapters drawing the scene where Metal Knight flies in to shoot missiles at the meteor. Those chapters took up approximately twelve seconds of animation.
Well my hypothetical degree says otherwise.
...so then you reiterate what I suggested, and now I'm confused.
Did you mean the manga production process?
Because what I said was that the process of animating would seemingly take longer.
I considered this. There's Metal Knight, the Meteor, the Genos vs Saitama fight, and Sonic's attack on Saitama before the crotch-tap. In those cases, Murata drew several panels to illustrate the motion of what was happening.
My point is - while those are extensive drawings, the motions we see between panels should still take a longer time to animate than they take to draw. Compare Saitama swatting a mosquito in the manga, to Saitama squatting mosquito in the anime.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Manga is drawn by one, maybe two, people. Anime is made by a companies worth. More work, but WAY more manpower.
Possibly.
But animating it takes less time than creating it.

what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseThis is a good example of how anime can easily overtake the source manga. What is about a chapter in the manga is but a few minutes or seconds when animated, because being animated actually shows the actions that can only be imagined by the reader when reading the manga. That is why an anime episode can eat up about a minimum of 3 or 4 manga chapters.
There's a lot less art to make for the manga, but it's done by a far greater number of artists. I don't know the number of animators involved, but if you're going to think of it in terms of man-hours, then the number of workers needs to be considered.
Also, while there's color in the animated version, there's also often some sacrifice of detail image-for-image.
Should've checked the list.I was under the impression that once animators do the keyframes (which merely need to be adapted from the manga), the in-between animation is just brute-force legwork that can be outsourced. An animation company can animate a lot more efficiently than an artist can write and draw.
I guess I'll just accept that then. I'd like some kind of video comparison of an artist duo (I doubt Murata draws/edits/inks the entire manga by himself) drawing chapters, vs the animation team taking those frames, installing movements in-between them that would otherwise be ignored, the sound production and all that.

At one point Murata actually streamed his drawing sessions, so he was definitely doing it solo, at least at the start. I think when the compilation/tankoubon versions had to be done, only then did assistants have to come in to help (because of the additions or changes — see Sonic's first introduction).

I think he still does that. I saw one where he was doing Garou vs Metal Bat.
Hitmonchan sucker punching a Jirachi would be incredible to see animated.
Hitmonchan (Saitama set)
Mach Punch
Focus Punch
Mega Punch
Close Combat
between 10 and 25 for all IVs
100,000,000 EVs in every single stat
I'd think the main power would be in his ability. As to reflect the meta nature of his power in that Saitama. Always. Wins.
Overwhelming Force: Any move used by Saitama instantly wins the battle.

"But if that happened, Melia might actually be happy. We can't have that." - Handsome RobExcept didn't Garou survive a couple hits without a healing factor?
Hmm, you're right. Let's assume he was using either Hold Back or False Swipe.
"But if that happened, Melia might actually be happy. We can't have that." - Handsome RobWouldn't Overwhelming Force override Hold Back?
Saitama wanted the power to defeat anything in One Punch. That's vague enough for his power to allow him to either knock out or kill depending on his choice.
I'm pretty sure Garou took a Serious Headbutt to the stomach and kept fighting.
It was his arm, IIRC. That was after he started regenerating though.
Chapter's out.
She's got a different name, but that ability clinches it. Slingshot S is almost certainly Manga Goddess Glasses. Wonder if it will take longer for Sweet Mask to smash her face in here.
Edit: Actually they're both out. Plus the new OVA got subbed yesterday. It's like fucking Christmas up in here.

Well, watched the subbed OVA, it's about Sonic trying to regain his confidence after losing to Saitama and he gets a wild boar piglet as a friend and it's so fucking cute I don't even
You, sir, show a terrible ignorance of how manga or anime production actually works. Seriously.
Even when played for laughs, Shirobako showed that the anime production process is NOT easy, and what's more, ridiculously stressful for little in return.
And Murata working double-time to get two books out in one year IS a big deal, when Murata's output is just about the industry average — a tankoubon a year.
