So, there's this band that I was introduced to in middle school called Pepper's Ghost (who I first listened to through, of all things, the Drake And Josh soundtrack). They are, or were, as I've discovered recently, an indie/alternative rock band (the kind that plays a sort of mix of standard '70s-style rock with obvious Beatles influences) from Philadelphia. Now, I found out recently that they broke up in 2008 (with one reunion in 2011), and with their breakup apparently came their website being taken offline. On that website was all their albums available to order, whereas now the only album of theirs that is at all widely available anywhere is their last album, Shake the Hand that Shook the World (which is very good and you should totally give it a listen). I've looked everywhere I can look online to find their other stuff, but that's all that turns up. There's traces of their other albums, sure, but nowhere I can actually buy or download them or anything. And forget looking in actual music stores—these guys seem as little distributed as indie bands get. The only thing I could think of is finding a music store in Phillie and seeing if they sell music from their local homegrown talent.

Anyone else ever experience this, looking for some media (or anything, really) that you know exists but you can't find anywhere, no matter how hard you try?

Don't we have a subforum, or something like that to ask about stuff we don't remember what they're called here on TVT? I think you'll have more luck asking there, if you can't get any answers here.

That's not what I mean at all. I mean things that you know already what they are but they are unavailable everywhere as far as you can find. I know You Know That Show. I yell at people to use that whenever they make a topic in one of the media subfora asking "WHAT THING IS THIS I DON'T REMEMBER" tongue

EDIT: And I just remembered, we have the trope Keep Circulating the Tapes for this...only in this case, nobody seems to have the tapes.

I don't mean to be poetically insipid, but there is a song that I have forgotten. A slow instrumental, full of nostalgic longing. And so the song to celebrate reaching out to the past has become a subject of that very endeavor.

I would love to know the name of that song, or even just hear the melody. But memory betrays, and I can't seem to find it again.

Smile for me!

Oh man, 666Satan. The fanbase is tiny, the trope page is barely detailed and there's next to no fanfiction for it.

Yeah, there was a hiphop artist called Ithaka that was really good, but I can't hardly find his albums for sale, since they're no longer being distributed. And he was pre-iTunes, so they're not all available there.

Shame, because he was really good.
