I think the real problem is finding enough tokens without duplicating them, since having two of one kind makes them have to distinguish themselves in ways other than just being token characters. You could probably have a male and female version of each whatever token type it is they're representing, but that aside, they really need to be token characters above everything else.
Check out my fanfiction!Bump, 'cause this still hasn't been answered?
PlayingWith.Five Token Band and Laconic.Five Token Band, disagree on whether there's a numerical limit / requirement?
Disambig Needed: Help with those issues! tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=13324299140A37493800&page=24#comment-576Really I don't have a lot of investment in that trope, but Five-Token Band sounds like it's meant to be the Five-Man Band with the addition of mixed ethnicity. If so, it should follow the exact same criteria for Five-Man Band.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I'm pretty sure it was meant to be a snowclone. Number doesn't matter.
Since I know there's a big fuss about Five-Man Band having a precise number of people, I was wondering if the same was true of Five-Token Band. From what I can tell, no examples listed care about number of characters, and the picture even has more than five/six characters. If the trope doesn't need to be limited to five members, then maybe the title needs to be changed but that's a discussion for TRS. Right now, I just want to know what to do with examples of the trope containing more than five/six members.
