Dorku: Dropbears are fake.
You need to find the right place to go, then.
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatI guess I like going outside to a degree. I love taking walks whenever I can afford time. Yet, most of my hobbies are indoor; reading, writing, and martial arts.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.^^^ Except in Canada. We call them wolverines.
A True Lady's Quest - A Jojo is You!Ohh, Drop bears are Wolverines? :O
ᐅᖃᐅᓯᖅ ᐊᑕᐅᓯᖅ ᓈᒻᒪᔪᐃᑦᑐᖅI thought they were koalas.
They are. Koalas that fall asleep and fall on hikers.
Wolverines are just the closest equivalent we have. They sometimes see or smell something really big, too big to take on from the ground, and proceed to climb up a cliff and hop onto it. Then they eat it to death.
A True Lady's Quest - A Jojo is You!Furi: Woah! o-o
ᐅᖃᐅᓯᖅ ᐊᑕᐅᓯᖅ ᓈᒻᒪᔪᐃᑦᑐᖅGoing back on topic, have you ever met someone who was like this and you weren't? I can imagine that'd be pretty annoying.
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatThis is what I am attempting. Studying hard, practicing martial arts, preparing to serve in special forces*, etc.

I rarely long for fiction land, more that I long for the stuff in my head that feels real to be real. Simply because things would be so easier that way and I wouldn't have to feel guilty about all this fake stuff taking up so much of my concious.
I have seen the fury of the wolverine in action.
Those.
Bitches.
Are.
Scary.
Mura: -flips the bird to veterinary science with one hand and Euclidean geometry with the other-I like the sounds they make.
I think other people are right that familiarity would render basically any fantasy world mundane. Still, I can sympathize personally. If I have to make a recommendation, I'd say the way to deal with it is to seek experiences in your own life, and maybe don't get too discouraged if they fail to meet your expectations the first few times. (Currently dealing with the latter myself.)
Text I feel is necessary to append to every post.Real life experience is where it's at. Fiction is nice when you've got some spare time but it's a poor, poor second to real life experience.
Besides, people will remember you (or not) for what you did (or didn't do). Nobody gives a shit what films you've watched.

'All he needs is for somebody to throw handgrenades at him for the rest of his life...'Thinking about it, the way I deal with my yearning can't be healthy. I pretty much just sleep it away so that I can dream. Problem is I yearn for fictionland A LOT. So this can be an issue.
Hello again tropersYou're right. That's very unhealthy.
You need to get a life, and I say that in all seriousness: get outside, start doing things for real and quit wasting your life on pretend shit. Take a hatchet to your PC if you have to but get up, get out and start living.
'All he needs is for somebody to throw handgrenades at him for the rest of his life...'I usually try but since I can't seem to find anything to do or friends to drag with me (my friends are lazy as all hell) things get a tad difficult on that front.
Hello again tropersHmm.
Get new friends?
There must be clubs or something you can join?
'All he needs is for somebody to throw handgrenades at him for the rest of his life...'A lot of the clubs here seem to just sit and watch things. Honestly the worst part of all this us knowing that there is a problem here and not really being able to come up with an answer. After all, there's only so many times my friends and I can walk to the same town before that loses its appeal.
Hello again tropersAre there any volunteer organisations nearby? Even join the National Guard? That'll get you out and about.
'All he needs is for somebody to throw handgrenades at him for the rest of his life...'Hmm... Possibilities... I may just look into that.
Hello again tropersOdds are pretty solidly against you being remembered by other people in any kind of significant long term; it's more important to do things that gratify yourself. I'm also not really sure that becoming a soldier in a war is particularly high on the list of experiences I'd use to entice people back to reality.

Outside is awful. I don't like it.
I agree with this.
