Just a Face and a Caption: Mechanical Lifeforms

Honestly? It looks like a Super Robot. There is absolutely nothing "living" about its appearance.

Thoughts?

I'm not particularly against the pic but dear God that image quality is terrible. It's like somebody resized it from source using Nearest Neighbor.

Hrrrm, I like Transformers Animated. They look robotic, but have clear expressive faces◊ So it can be easy◊ to convey the lifeform bit◊.

Yes. And they just look like robots. Not lifeforms. Nothing about them says "alive". Heck. They look more like stylized undeads than robots.

I like Wall-E in there. Toys I am not too partial for, it doesn't really carry the "Life form" thing...

Wasn't Wall-E on some cute trope or another? Might be a too similar picture. Then again, most pics of him from the front look very similar including the one on the film page, though that has more to it.

A cast shot from Transformers Animated might be best. How's this◊?

Hmm the cast shot doesn't work out as well as Sentinel and Optimus getting all up in each other's faces.

There's also Wreck-Gar though. Voiced by Weird Al and awesome because of it.

Heh, I was about to suggest something from that Futurama episode. I like that one.

I'd strike the hottip in the caption, though. It's a meme that won't make sense to people who haven't seen the episode.

I like the Transformers Animated images. Especially Wreck Gar. Coz Weird Al is awesome.

Just because it's a robot doesn't mean it's a lifeform. The image needs to illustrate that the robot is alive, and not just a mechanical construct that moves.

i agree with what The Pope was going for but i think a shot of the robo t-rex fighting the robo triceratops in the metal forest . it shows a sort of ecosystem composed of mechanical entities . we must find an image of a mechanical ecosystem, that could get across the idea of "life" via nature.
