Maybe Duchess Satine was keeping secrets from old Ben?
"War without fire is like sausages without mustard." - Jean Juvénal des UrsinsThere was some rumblings that Obi-Wan had a civilian brother. Owen Lars at one point was intended to be revealed as his brother, which would make him being the caretaker of Luke a more complicated arrangement, being "Here's a kid to take care of, pretend you're his uncle." vs. "Your step brother had a son, can you take care of him?"
Is there any particular reason Owen and Beru didn't just lie and tell Luke he was their son?
Owen probably respected his step-mom and her name enough to not do that, perhaps.
Finn Kenobi
You know what? That might be an interesting twist. A lot of people, myself included, are expecting Kylo to be a Jacen Solo Expy. If it turns out he's a Kenobi, it might genuinely surprise a good chunk of the fanbase.
You there! Check out my Youtube Channel! The power of Ponies compel you!Maybe Snoke will be like Palpatine; apparently non-action but will start taking a more active role in the next two movies, if he lives through this one.
I had expected Snoke to be mostly a Non-Action Big Bad at first, but he is apparently a Force sensitive if not user.
Aside from the soundtracks, I always loved the Lego sets, in terms of SW merchandising. I love how they are slightly different from the official ship designs, and are more rough (I like rough).

So, who wants to talk about the Acolytes of the Beyond?
Darth Vader's lightsaber got destroyed forever, unless Luke picked it up, which is something we did not see him do.
Honestly, I feel like "this is Luke's lightsaber that he lost" is one of those fan fiction ideas. The lightsaber holds a lot of value to the fans but In-Universe there is nothing special about it. It might be somewhere on Cloud City but, like Luke almost did, likely fell into Bespin itself. Hell, I had to double-check to see if Luke retrieved his lightsaber after tossing it aside after defeating Vader (It's seen on his belt briefly as he joins the final celebration). The recovery of the lightsaber would also be a waste of time and manpower, especially since it would have been at least a few years before they would even get back to Cloud City safely.

Well, it's an ordinary lightsaber, but it has tremendous historical value since Anakin and Luke Skywalker both used it. If the rumors are correct that there's a cult of Darth Vader in the new trilogy, then it's plausible that characters would consider Luke's old saber mystically important.
Vader might of ordered a sweep of the ventilation shafts since he would of known that Luke lost his lightsaber with his hand and didn't necessarily get out of the city with it. The Empire was occupying Cloud City at the time, so they had the manpower and the time to do it. That would of put it in the hands of the Empire, who could of lost it after everything went to crap for them after Rot J.

More details on Aftermath.

Given the ragtag and vaguely despperate nature of the heroes this time around, it's possible that they get the lightsaber over the course of the plot from the black market or something.
It'd fit the whole "might and magic" tone Star Wars has always had: finding something powerful and amazing weapon in the gutter.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.I'm actually kind of disappointed that Mon Mothma apparently plans to cut down the size of the military. You're still at war, woman.
She plans to cut down the military once they can confirm the end of the war. That's what it says.
@KJ Mackley: Why wouldn't Anakin Skywalker's lightsaber be important? It's a weapon that belonged to one of the most renowned Jedi Knights in the galaxy, who was the Jedi Chosen One, to boot.
Hmm, Sloane is reporting to a "Fleet Admiral" who's waiting deep in space, huh? Can anybody say "Thrawn"?

Wonder what Thrawn would have been doing? Plundering the art galleries of the galaxy?
Si Vis Pacem, Para PerkeleCutting down the military is still a bad idea, once the war is over or not. If there's an Imperial Remnant like in the old EU, I doubt they'll stay down and let the New Republic so what it wants.
