I kind of liked it. Though I would have preferred a story based on Connor Mac Leod rather than Duncan.
Personally, I'd rather have a lead that can't act over a lead that can't act and barely speaks English.
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatI don't know, I thought Adrian did a good job, but of course I've seen some pretty horrendous acting so "below average" doesn't bug me anymore.
On the English thing are you talking about Lambert or Paul?
I do agree Connor should have been around though, seeing him and Duncan interact is awesome in the the pilot and Endgame.

Lambert. His French accent is so thick he's almost unintelligible at times. Plus he was going blind in the sequels, not the sort of guy you want to handle sharp weapons.
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatIt's odd that they made Duncan affect an Irish accent, when Connor didn't bother.
I'm a skeptical squirrelScottish. No more than Ramirez not sounding either Spanish or Egyptian.

Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatI kinda like his voice, it has a really iconic gravelly sound to it. Of course I haven't seen the first movie in couple years, I'm mainly going of what I remember when he played Raiden, the seiries pilot, and Endgame, it may be worse than I remember in the first movie.
For me though Paul actually having some level of martial arts training and looking like he knows what he's doing is a big plus in action scenes.
I like Adrian. For one he's more believable in a fight. For as much as I love the first movie, Christopher Lambert's fight scenes look like he's using the sword like if it was a baseball bat as he's fighting off someone who just broke into his home. Adrian Paul managed the Warrior Poet bit better.
I like the TV Show, flawed though it is.

Yeah, that shows really bad when Duncan and Connor fight in Endgame. I also think Duncan's a little bit better characterized. Let's face it, as badass as Connor was he was kind of a flat character(and bordering on Mary Sue) until they fleshed him out in Endgame.

Those are two different Connors, in my view. Movie Connor is kind of like a yuppie Dracula, very erudite and well-groomed. Then they retconned him into the TV show as an Obi-Wan.
I'm a skeptical squirrelYeah, Adrian comes across as eing better in a fight.
Of course, the series has Methos, and that makes it way better than the movies.
But the movies have Ramirez.
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatRamirez is Dr. Light to Connor's Mega Man.
I'm a skeptical squirrelAnd Methos is Protoman to Duncan's Megaman (The way cooler, way older, way more genre savvy version)
I used to love the series back when it was on TV. I especially enjoyed the later seasons with Methos and the slightly more ambitious story arcs.
Speaking of the Highlander franchise, I've heard some talk about a reboot of the movies with Ryan Reynolds in the role? Personally I think that'd be a pretty bad choice. To me a more logical choice might be someone like Ray Park (Darth Maul, Toad, Snake Eyes). He's a martial artist and he's actually Scottish.
Tales of the Remake have been around for literally years. Nothing concrete out of it yet as far as I know.
Peter Wingfield makes anything awesome.
I liked that "Methos send-off" episode he filmed in his house. :D I think he just wanted to show off the stripper's pole.

I'm a skeptical squirrelNo. Even he can't save Endgame and The Source. Or Orbital Wobble.
I don't know, I though Endgame was decent for how well it handled Conner's death scene if nothing else.

Meh. I felt the death is unjustified since the movie decides to treat kill counts as Power Levels. Connor does so little in the movie. He mopes for half of it, then decides to get himself killed stupidly for no reason.
Well that part's stupid, I just like how emotional they made the scene. I wish they would've made his quickening more epic though.
Of course you have one other problem, where was Methos "the most powerful immortal to walk the earth" when they needed Kells taken out? I watched it with my mom and even she noticed that plothole.
Methos was always cagey about getting involved in The Game. I liked that about his character. In a way, it was symbolic of immortality as defined in the series. These guys are no different from Nosferatu or Peter Weyland. They run around trying to unnaturally prolong their lives, letting their real life, the people and places around them, go to shit. Duncan was cool because he risked his immortality to improve things around him.
As for Connor's 'death', it made Kirk's demise look epic.
I'm a skeptical squirrelBut also, Methos showed some signs in series of growing a heart here and there. Like helping Joe on that rescue mission and saving Duncan a couple times.
Yeah, it had the emotional impact but lacked a "cool sendoff"

In the last few months I've been getting to Highlander, the series in particular. I was just wondering who else here likes it.
