This is Shonen 101. Budo getting defeated so quickly means he will not participate in a fight with Mine, since she's the one who overpowered him.

If Budo gets up, that'll be to fight someone else, and it won't be now since Night Raid is suspiciously absent. I suspect Mine is being used as a distraction so they can take Tatsumi out.

Also, post a link to the translated chapter, when it gets translated, please. I wanna know what they're saying.

Esdese really must stomp Mein here if this series is to be salvaged. Anything else will reduce pretty much everything up till now into a joke. 50 thousand soldiers and 10 Tengu users? Yeah right, just piss Mein off and send her in.

It's not different from Kurome randomly being immune to poison due to being a drug addict (because the candy was only ever revealed to be drugs when she was hit by the poison). Even Esdeath freezing time can be explained as it being the logical extreme of her being An Ice Person.

Besides, Akame said she will kill Esdeath. That is why Esdeath will win. No need to get exasperated over Mine vs Esdeath.

Yea, you're gonna have to explain it a bit better, not saying that you're wrong but saying something is an Ass Pull in Shonen is about as credible as saying the sky is blue at this point.

It shouldn't be and it's kind of telling how the genre has fallen, but it is what it is.

Hey, Shonen is not a genre. It is a demographic. Remember, Attack On Titan and Fullmetal Alchemist are Shonen, because that is the demographic that the authors slapped onto it.

Maybe, just maybe the standards have fallen because people are too quick to accept stupid things.

Saying "it's shonen, so why care that it's bad?" is really disingenuous. We might just as well pack our stuff and go home, since there's no point in discussing things in that case.

It's definitely fishy that taking monster parts and fusing them with your Teigu gives you a power-up, but it's been consistent that Esdeath is the strongest in the empire. Budo losing isn't a surprise.

I mean it had to happen eventually... cause the Villain have been framed to be unrealistically beatable -The whole need an army and ten akames to beat Esdeath ring a bell-

Its a sad trend, Shone writers LOVE to make their villains so unassailable that the plot has to bend over backwards to give the heroes a chance. -See Aizen, Madara etc etc etc-

It's happening.

Ah, the revolution is almost the gates of the capitol now. Most of the strongholds surrendered to the revolutionary army, but Budo's forces have his fortress on lockdown, and the palace has most of the military now.

Of course, Honest thinks otherwise, and he's just waiting for a chance to completely destroy the revolution's morale. On the other side, Night Raid will all come to Tatsumi's rescue, but Esdeath and Budo are planning it since they sent announcements of the execution.

We really are entering the climax of the manga.

I am totally cool with seeing Adaptive Ability + Emotional Powers min-maxed toward its upper limit—it'd be a complete shame to go the entire series without someone with that kind of power set really cutting loose, and this situation is perfect for it.

I'd say I feel bad for the crowd—holy collateral damage, Batman—but anyone that goes to watch a brutal public execution kind of has it coming.

Budo said he will kill the Prime Minister after the revolution is defeated.

Esdeath overhears it, and said she's looking forward to fighting him, but instead of a grin or a smirk, she just smiles. I like that she seems to have a ton of respect for Budo. He's a good man at heart.

Also, Tatsumi facing death was dignity - that's exactly what Esdeath would expect outta him. She had a pretty big moment of surprise over Mine saying Tatsumi is her boyfriend, but other than that, the most that was on her mind was Tatsumi's happiness (just in general, really, even though it was triggered by Mine in this case).
