[up][up]54 total by the time their throne went down.

There was one amusing bit where the Sand King (who never got a Blink Dagger) tried to use Sand Storm to keep from dying in the fight - I just used Curse of the Silent in the area he was and he died.

I think Razor was going for a Refresher Orb...

No, it probably won't make it into the game... but it's kinda funny.

For fun, I decided to try to make balanced versions of Heroes found in the famous post "The Worst Imbalances in Dota History", seen here. So far, I've made versions of Old Pudge and Astral Trekker. The Trekker was barely changed, but Old Pudge was greatly redone.

This arose because I felt that with old versions of Dota, the developers would give up far too easily, completely removing Heroes who were imbalanced instead of putting the effort of balancing them. Sometimes, as with Pudge or Silencer, they would keep the name and model, but nothing else. That said, I think they did the right thing in removing Gambler. That concept is just impossible to balance.

Oh man, I remember playing these back in the old 3.xx-5.xx days. Old Pusge was virtually impossible to kill without having to send in the entire enemy team, as his summons and ult were just ridiculously overpowered. My friends hated me so much for using that hero whenever they ended up against me.

I think Gambler could be redone if he was given a different resource for his skills instead of gold. Let's call it something like 'Token'. Stays true to the Gambling theme while avoiding the problem of "He needs gold, aka the most important resource in the game". RNG is not necessarily a problem, since we already have Chaos Knight, Ogre Magi and to a lesser extent Chen.

Nochthitus can go straight to hell, though.

MMM

I think we can consider mango Warlock's favorite fruit now [lol]

[up][up]Ah... I see. I think the original Pudge is one of the most interesting ones from there. Personally I'd mix Necrogenesis and Cannibalize into one skill, and probably make the hero's other skills have a "forced" sinergy with it (as in, they are specifically made to react to it).

As much as I hope after all the heroes from the original Dota are released, that Valve makes a "community contest" for the next hero to enter the game, even if that were to happen, I'm pretty sure anything I could make would be unbalanced as all shit tongue

I say this out of nostalgia from Warcraft III's map creator. Never did much on it, but those were fun days.

Funny enough, that sort of "Community Contest" was actually a Compendium stretch goal in TI 3. It never reached it though.

I wasn't around by then. Though I suppose that means there's at least a chance they may hold some kind of contest of the kind in the future, maybe not necessarily with heroes. Items, Aghanim Upgrades... I think I heard alternative game modes/maps were stuck in Valve Time, right?

[up][up][up] I wish I'd spent more time with it too. I remember being so excited about the vastly increased functionality compared to the Starcraft editor (which I probably spent almost as much time in as I did actually playing Starcraft). Then the crowd I ended up with preferred doing team ladder over custom maps, so I never really got around to it. >.> It probably didn't help that a derp with the Blizzard servers deleted all the data on my account (the data dropped during a match and then when we won, it overwrote my nearly-100-win record with 1-0-0) and that their customer service never got back to me, which kinda killed my interest in the game before Frozen Throne even came out. <.<

I remember playing nothing but custom games back in the days. Ah, these were the days. Life of a Peasant, Uther Party, and countless more that can apparently no longer be found on the internet.

I think I want to contribute custom maps to Dota 2 someday. Already got some ideas for a few, I just wanna play around to see what I can get to work or not.

Custom maps were so much fun, especially with friends. Nothing ever beat playing Pudge Wars with 9 other friends playing in the same café, all of you swearing at each other all the while.

I've read that Nochthitus, the Dark Terminator was "only in a few versions of Dota Allstars 4.1x", but I could never find exactly which versions those are. Does anyone know?

In this match, Sniper decided that it was a good idea to not only go to the offlane against a Cancer and Kotol combo, but also try and harass Kotol partway into the jungle. That was the easiest first blood of my life.

I messed up by purchasing Level 2 Diffusal Blade with my charges full, but I guess my alright performance throughout the match compensated for that mistake.

Played a game of Dota: Allstars today. I forgot how to use buyback and the Glyph (buyback was disabled and the Glyph involves the Circle of Power), so I asked my teammates. Instead of a straight answer, I got told to suck someone's dick. I was playing pretty badly, but I still never got that level of animosity in Dota 2.

Also, did anyone notice that the Dota 2 website is all sorts of messed up? The Hero pages are more vertically oriented, which looks awkward. The labels on the items page aren't aligned properly. Those are the issues I've noticed.

And even going from the English page, clicking other tabs sends me to the French pages...

Today, I played a game of Ability Draft where I put Greevil's Greed, Shrapnel, Warcry, and Reincarnation on Axe. The odd thing was that neither Sniper nor Wraith King were in that match.

It's a shame/relief that Techies aren't part of the Ability Draft pool. Imagine having both Suicide Squad, Attack! and Reincarnation!
