I think it's really good, actually. It's not a big leap to assume that he's immortal (just minor bruising after a gunshot to the head, and the Ouroboros helps too), and that he wants out (smoking gun still held to his head + pained expression).
The only thing that I can imagine would be better is a comic strip where a character explicitly angsts about their immortality.

He looks depressed, he just shot himself in the head but he's still alive, and there's that Ouroboros around him symbolising eternity or immortality.
It's a good illustration of the trope.
There's also no text, which is a big plus in my book.

Definitely Keep Until Better Image Suggested, for reasons already mentioned. He's obviously immortal and suicidal, which captures the main point of the trope pretty well.

Seems like a good pic to me. The Ourobouros is a symbol of immortality, he's shot himself in the head, he's not dead, and he doesn't look happy about it. All that adds up to Keep Until Better Image Suggested to me.
