I think it's really good, actually. It's not a big leap to assume that he's immortal (just minor bruising after a gunshot to the head, and the Ouroboros helps too), and that he wants out (smoking gun still held to his head + pained expression).
The only thing that I can imagine would be better is a comic strip where a character explicitly angsts about their immortality.

please don't capitalize my handle. I just don't like it.He looks depressed, he just shot himself in the head but he's still alive, and there's that Ouroboros around him symbolising eternity or immortality.
It's a good illustration of the trope.
There's also no text, which is a big plus in my book.

Check out my fanfiction! While I don't see the outlet hole, this image is otherwise good: Depressed look, a gunshot to the head but still alive and the iconic Ouroboros.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanHe doesn't look depressed. It's more like Dull Surprise.
Keep Until Better Image Suggested
His jaw isn't dropped, his eyes slant downwards, and his mouth does as well. Not Dull Surprise.
Check out my fanfiction!Given that this was chosen only a short while ago in a thread, I see no reason to change it.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerCould someone get a shot of Brook from One Piece as a skeleton surrounded by the corpses of his friends?
I like the current image.
Image is fine. Your suggestion sounds like it would be worse.
Belief or disbelief rests with you.I doubt a skeleton would make for even a passable image.
Check out my fanfiction!Definitely Keep Until Better Image Suggested, for reasons already mentioned. He's obviously immortal and suicidal, which captures the main point of the trope pretty well.
Reaction Image RepositorySeems like a good pic to me. The Ourobouros is a symbol of immortality, he's shot himself in the head, he's not dead, and he doesn't look happy about it. All that adds up to Keep Until Better Image Suggested to me.
Since most of the votes are Keep Until Better Image Suggested, I'm gonna give this a coupla days to see if a BIS shows up and lock if not.
Hearing nothing, let's lock up and move on.
A guy shot himself and lived.
...And?
Yeah, this is pretty crappy.
