• Name: Carl/Charlotte Loften
• Age: 25
• Appearance: Petite, girly, looking younger than his age boy. As a side-effect of his Fruit, his skin is permanently coloured deep brown, contrasting with his medium length golden-blond hair and bright blue eyes. Generally wears a white blouse with black skirt (Wholesome Crossdresser and is good at it).
• Personality: Despite rough childhood, pretty optimistic. He doesn't hold much attachments to anything in the world, even taking the dream of his life easy.
• Backstory: He comes from a West Blue island that housed a large confectionery, to which most of the island's industry was connected. Both his parents were enamoured by the fever of the Great Age of Piracy and left him with his grandmother, leaving him to a quite poor childhood. He started working menial jobs as soon as he was able, even being reduced to begging occasionally. During these times he discovered that people are generally more kind to girls than boys and got into habit of crossdressing as one, with it eventually becoming second nature. Working part-time as a fruit-sorter for the factory, on one fateful day he had found a very strange fruit, mixed up with regular ones. The factory was letting the sorters to take the refuse they found, so it was his - and to surprise it tasted most foul, turning out to be the Devil Fruit. Using his newfound power to learn more about the chocolate helped him get a better job at the factory and for the following years his life was looking up. Then the blows came. Not long before the reignition of the Pirate Era, his grandmother passed away, leaving him with nothing chaining him to his old life. Soon after the Whitebeard War he got fired from the factory due to slander heaped on him by his rival and decided to screw it all. First time using his powers to full extent, he broke into the factory, stole the most secret recipes and masterwork and got off the island, intending to travel the world, master the art of confection and start his own factory somewhere.
• Powers:
  • Cocoa Cocoa Fruit. Allows one to become and control chocolate. In detail, it is not just a "general chocolate", it allows him to become specific sorts. Combining the greater insight into the nature of chocolate with his already impressive knowledge of it, he learned how to create very special sorts, imbued with unnatural effects so prevalent on the Grand Line - however the effects rarely have combat uses (until he gets into the New World with the really weird stuff). Currently has only one really useful: a very light chocolate that floats in water, giving him a chance to avoid watery doom in some cases.
  • Agile, acrobatic fighting, using his Fruit for makeshift weapons (spikes for the basic example) and adding special tricks. Basics of Roukishiki (think Nero, though with all six skills), going to gradually develop with training.
  • At later time will begin developing Armament Haki so as to be ready for the New World.
• Role on the Ship: Cook. Very good in general, special sort of genius with desserts.

Accepted, but now we have 7, not counting my potential character. -_- Ah well.

I thought it was weird that there was no "appearance" tab.

As for another weakness for my Bear-hating/Bear-creating character, what about him being long-sighted and thus horrible shot at close distance?

@JCW 3 Sure make him develop them if you want. Also, if you want to keep them still, I would like to ask something which is a 'slow burn'. For example, it takes him an hour to do it, but by that time, if he's fully prepared, he can throw a planet or huge meteor at his target.

All right. I was thinking that they grew based off of his power, experience, maybe emotions. Therefore, they could grow as the plot demanded. I thought it was an original idea. Didn't realize how Overpowered it was. Can I use them from the beginning, like the Sun ball will just be a minor fireball, and grow to be an incendiary destructive force that can destroy a city block? Because I'll start weaker, and grow strong.

I'm interested in joining this. How familiar do we have to be with the canon? I've "only" seen the first 200~ish episodes of the anime.

Hmm, so, you already have a lot of protagonists, I'm guessing you want someone to be an antagonist before you start? Maybe I'll make a fishman, or giant, - basically someone who won't get utterly murdered in four seconds flat when a pirate crew full of DF users who turn things into bears and launch meteors decide to attack him.

But I don't like playing evil characters, so he'd have to be someone who's neutral or good, but still not a protagonist. SOMEONE HELP ME CHOOSE!!!

Oh, I can see it now: A crazy fishman stalker who's always swimming after the protagonists' ship trying to steal their stuff. Or maybe he'd just be a real nutjob who acts like a weird sort of Mysterious Protector.

If you want to make your own Captain Jack figure, go for it. We already have a villain of sorts in the form of Akauma, so either you make him a Marine or some criminal or Chaotic Evl he is chasing.

First, they aren't meteors, they're comets.

Second, why not a private assassin, hired to kill one of the crew? My character's an enemy of the Tenryuubito, one has a private contractor out for blood, and I'm afraid I still need to catch up with the rest.

Ok, I got it: He'll be an octopus fishman, who uses his suction cups and water-breathing to cling to the side of the ship and be the ultimate stowaway, with the protaganists just happening to be the owners of the ship he pseudo-randomly decides to get the hell out of town on.

And I can combine your ideas. He'll be on the lam, trying not to get caught *

I'll also make him an assassin. A wrestling assassin. But an Assassin With A Heart, because I don't like writing puppy-slaughtering monsters. Oh, maybe instead of coincidence, he just thinks one of the crew members is some real viscous pirate who he wants the bounty on, but then finds out they're actually a decent person he decides he doesn't want to murder them with a folding chair.

If someone drops out you will be upgraded to main character. We're really just playing it by ear for now. I've sealed up everything, closed up the cracks. Now we're seeing how it develops. My job is just to keep stability.

We shall be starting soon. Here is a summary of the opening post.

Akainu chews out Akauma for trying to enter the New World and getting completely hammered by one of the Emperors. He gets sent back to the Blues, and will be ready to intercept the heroes when they cross over reverse mountain. Greenbeard will make his move on Roguetown after everyone has gotten used to rping with each other and gotten along. After Greenbeard is defeated they go over reverse mountain, perhaps on the run from Akauma. Who knows.

What are Akauma's powers and abilities again?

He has no devil fruit power himself, but his sword does. He has all three colors of Haki. A super human. So it is Garp with a sword ability wise.

Akauma doesn't have the haki that Luffy and Rayleigh does (That haki which makes animals or people drop unconcious with a look). He's not one of the 'special chosen', Haki wise. He just basically built himself up with the colours of Haki that everyone can get if they work hard enough. And yeah, he is sort of like Garp, but. Think of him like Garp crossed over with Akainu (With a hint of Rayleigh, I mean, Akauma can, and does, swim the Grand Line often). And yeah, at this level, I think i will have to do it so none of your DF powers work on him at the moment. Or at least, not very well.

The sword is a recent addition for this RP, and it has a wealth of powers on it's own (More than Funkfreed, though, unfortunately). He's not indestructible, however. Akoti, the first Pirate Captain in the RP he first appeared, managed to escape from him pretty handily.

As for the editing, sorry! I just think when new information appears it should be easily found by newcomers. The opening post should really give all that is required for somoene to play properly, you know?
