Coming for troping issues. The anime OP spells Chūnibyō as "Chū-2 byō"... If a rename is deemed necessary, it's better early than late.
And... nobody seems to be able translate Chūnibyō in a succinct way. Work page translate it as "Adolescent Delusions of Grandeur," and Fall 2012 Anime translates as "Adolescent Delusions," which is still a mouthful (compared to, say, "Eighth-grade Syndrome").
PS: Am I the only wicker in anime...?

Scientia et Libertas | Per Aspera ad Astra NovaChūnibyō and Chū-2 byō are both identical in pronunciation. Sentai's streaming it as Chunibyo.
Basically, no change is necessary.

Probably would use summary about chuunibyou in the beginning as the page quote, or else the entire premise is not comprehensible to many.
Scientia et Libertas | Per Aspera ad Astra NovaChuunibyou refers to 8th grade-which is actually second grade of middle school (hence "ni" or 2).
Chuu-2-byou is unbelievably obnoxious...
... ''Like something a Chuuni would use!!!''

This show has quite a bit of energy to it.

#IceBearForPresidentNo, it's not just you. I made the same connection myself.
The embarrassing memories are coming back!
3DS Friend Code: 0302-0823-4983 Black 2 Friend Code: 4084-3672-3624Well, I enjoyed this. The set-up reminds me a lot of Haruhi though. Like, it's exactly the same in every way. The main character who wants to give up on his childhood fantasies partnered with the girl who doesn't. And now I'm half-expecting it all to come true or something silly like that. Not sure it it would be better or worse if it did.
Also, I'm reminded of my own 9th Grade Disease days, back in 8th grade obviously. Although in my case it actually made me pretty popular... I never took it quite so far of course.
Edit: Come to think of it, I still do that thing where I gesture and pretend I'm opening doors that would open on their own anyway. ...when no one's looking.

Here, I fixed◊ that for you.

That was a really fun episode. Rikka in chuunibyou mode is amusing, but those moments when she acts like a normal teenage girl, however brief they are, are downright adorable. Probably because of how much they contrast with her chuuni side.
Speaking of adorable, Kyo Ani scores two more for their "adorable little sister" category and one more for their "awesome mother" category.
You know, it occurs to me-Chuunibyou in America tends to be associated with "witch" types. I knew one in college, but it only just dawned on me that it's a similar phenomenon when I watched a video on cracked.
Another "lite" episode. I wonder if it will keep this two shows format. Anyway nice flashback.
So um which subs would you recommend for this?
Anything but GG! <Considers [gg] to be desperation territory>
Are they that bad? Personally I consider them to be a perfectly valid choice though I admit that is mostly because I am used to their subs.
Every time they seem to pepper their works with ridiculous and needless profanity.
First (full) episode made me genuinely laugh several times. Both leads (especially Rikka) have lots of potential. If it continues to be good, I will not remember this anime as "the reason why Kyoani didn't animate Little Busters"( yes, I watched with that mindset) but as a very good Kyoani adaptation.
Also I did see a lot of comparison to Haruhi( Haruhi without her powers) but for some reason Rikka reminded me Fuuko. Male lead is definitely Kyon though.
My hatoful Monster Girlfriend is the President Ecstasy: Higurashi After in Summer (All ages memorial edition)I was expecting more Hououin Kyouma, less Haruhi, but I think it strikes a good balance.
The first episode was hilarious, and Rikka is incredibly cute.
This show is what Haruhi would be if she wasn't really a Reality Warper.
Just look at this and judge by yourself.
It's not that they are bad, they just like to randomly insert trolling and memes into the subs, and they also drop shows if they get bored. By general rule, if there is an alternative, never use GG.
Ah see I watched their subs for a few other shows and did not have much of a problem with them myself. Time to find another group then.
gg only does bad subs for shows they don't like. For shows they like they're as high quality as the best of them. It's sort of a gamble I guess, but it's not like they're just bad at translating. If you're already satisfied with their work on any particular show it's unlikely to get worse.

Is it just me or did that one item Rikka pulled out of her boxes look like The Antikythera Mechanism?
