A brief review on the Xbox 1 game.

Movie is shown with English subs in Singapore.
Well it is coming out on DVD/Blu-Ray in Japan next month and with this news, hopefully Funimation might finally get around to announcing when they're dubbing and releasing it already.
The game's coming out for Fall in Hong Kong/Macau with English and Chinese subtitles.
And Funi's giving the movie a theatrical release next year.
Honestly as long as Australia's anime gods (*cough*Madman Entertainment*cough*) can do a theatrical release here too then I'm content.
Someone made a somewhat idoitic post about the game having English subs if I say so myself.
english in hong kong?
they think more english speakers there or something?
most peopel have english names.. but often don't speak english...
The movie was alright, but looking at the plot from outside of itself, it tread a lot of the same ground as the first two seasons. Mostly season 1.
Season 1 was the better season, so that's not necessarily a bad thing ;D
If it was a season that had the same sense of style sure, but I meant that it's like:
"remember when we did that thing with the philosopher obsessed villain? Twice? Have 2 more!"
"IT WAS A SYBIL SYSTEM ROBOT PUPPET ALL ALOOOOOONG!"
And so on.
That sounds like exactly what I want in a Psycho Pass movie though.
Well, actually, I would have liked to see a buncha stuff about how the country deals with international relationships (and lack thereof).
/me has not seen the movie yet.
This movie was a better season 2 for Psychopass than the actual Season 2.
RIP Akira Toriyama, taken from us far too soon.Nice to see Mika is still the unsympathetic jerk I remember from season 2. Still Sibyl's lapdog as well. Pretty much the only thing that carried over to the movie.
Also nice to see that Sibyl needed to manipulate a bunch of people it would normally judge because it otherwise wouldn't be able to spread its influence outside Japan.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.Saw the film. Not half bad, despite being a bit heavy on the exposition in terms of dialogue. Loved the moments between Akane and Kougami, even if that was also a bit too much on exposition. Still, it was the subtle details of their interactions that made up for that.
I really wouldn't mind seeing more of the world that this series takes place in. How are the other countries in the world coping without the Sybil System? Are they like the world in Judge Dredd?
I'm still procrastinating on watching it. I need to find a solid block of time where I'm in the mood and won't get distracted!
I actually rank things Season 1 > Season 2 > movie, personally. It felt... inconsequential. The character writing wasn't as on-point, it felt like they swung the action-character ratio a bit too far towards action, and I feel like they wasted Kogami's return.
Basically, it would have been better if it had been a full season instead of a 2-hour movie. That way they would have had more time to flesh out the bad guys and the situation in SEAUN, given more time to the rest of the supporting cast, and focus more on Kogami and Akane and all the stuff that should have come up in their reunion.
It still had some great moments, though, and I enjoyed it a lot.

Having watched the movie, I'm mostly of the same opinion as Gaunt. Could have afforded more time for itself and more things actually happening, but it still had many great moments.
I would literally kill for that.
RIP Akira Toriyama, taken from us far too soon. That would have been nice. Still, for what they had to work with, the film was still good.
Better than season two imo, which was basically the Robo Cop 2 of this series.

No committing murder in the name of Psycho Pass. That would be very awkward, and probably be the cause of the institution of the Sibyl System :P
Nothing much happened in the movie, but it was still better than anything in season 2 because season 2 was hot garbage that should've been strangled in the crib. "Ugh, a mercenary obsessed with post-colonialism?" is more entertaining than anything in S2, let's be honest.
Movie was okay. Season 2 was okay. But neither live up to the potential created from Season 1.
The weird part about the movie was that apparently, the entire world outside of Japan is a warzone? When the hell was that a plot point in this series? Yeesh.

Well the info we got was from people who might not have the most reliable of opinions.
Despite what Kougami insists he truly is a wolf hunting his prey, which was clearly brought up near the end of season 1 when Makishima asked Kougami what he would do when he no longer had him to hunt. So he likely didn't seek a place to stay in the first place.
He spent the final parts of the movie chasing a guy who was for all purposes inconsequential in the grand scheme of things simply because he was something for him to chase. Even imagined Makishima brings it up.

Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.I mostly agree with Gaunt (big surprise...). With the addition that I feel like Akane's decision at the end of the movie was totally at odds with her decision at the end of Season 1, with no real exploration of why.
I mean, correct me if I'm wrong, but Akane's thought process when she decided to go along with the Sybil system was roughly: "Yes, the Sybil system is not right, and nobody would actually choose it, and keeping it going is deceiving the population, but at this point doing anything to get rid of it would cause so much pain and suffering to the population that it's just not worth it".
In the movie, instituting the Sybil system would save the populace from a lot of pain and suffering - Akane gets to see how much living in SEAUN sucks at the moment, and Sybil offers a way to fix it, but she still decides not to let Sybil take over.
I mean, that could still make sense, but I feel like you need to devote a little bit to Akane's thought process here beyond just "you can't impose Sybil on them without democracy because that's wrong".
Maybe if there was a whole season to explore SEAUN in, and maybe show Akane thinking about the ways in which it's different to Japan and whether or not imposing a solution from the outside is effective or right.
Be not afraid...Eh, if you quotemine, you can find the quotes from Akane where she talks about law, which pretty much affirms her view of the democratic process.
Yeah Season 2 felt like filler and it seemed like nothing world changing happened. Even with a rouge agent it all went back to status quo pretty fast.
