The thing that annoys me about Laurel's death was this was the season were things became lighter, where Oliver was supposed to become more The Cape and they couldn't keep that promise past the first episode of the season. The teaser of someone dying was seen at the end of the first episode meaning that viewers were crapping their pants wondering who they were going to kill off next to fuel Oliver's angst.

I'm not just mad at Laurel's death, I'm mad cause the creators basically went back on their word.

Don't forget her last words were to tell Oliver to get back together with this.'

I think my favorite stupid thing about that finale is how maybe 20-30 Ghosts show up and charge at that big ol crowd Oliver has on his side.

Though in their defense, they had a superpowered master assassin leading them, so it was a reasonable assumption he would Force Push most of the crowd away. But nooo.

You know, I don't know if even killing Felicity will bring an end to the frothing bitterness that's been arrayed against her.

At least she still has Discus Tablet.

I'll always find that funny, even as I joined with those demanding her blood.

And besides it wouldn't do this show any favors to kill of another female character. Their version of Amanda Waller was hated as well, but that didn't stop people being pissed when she was killed.

I would think the main reason people didn't like was because of the suicide squad movie being the reason they killed her off in arrow.

Waller's death would would have been more tolerable had something interesting come out of it.

Either it's apparent killing off female characters for dumb reasons has become the pet peeve of anyone watching this show.

Killing anybody who isn't a straight white male creates a critic with an Unfortunate Implication trope somewhere or another. It's a rocky thing to navigate at times.

In any rate, I likewise am not a fan of Felicity. A part of me just wants to see how she drags things down more in Season 5.

Personally I was kind of pissed when they killed the suddenly race-lifted Fairy Godmother in Once Upon A Time. Waller? Well this version kind of deserved it.

It sucks because she's the closest thing to a "Nick Fury/connective tissue" the CW might have. Batman doesn't seem to exist in the CW verse.

I thought it was implied that before Felicity Ruined Everything, Arrow and Flash essentially served as the Batman and Superman of this universe.

Wasn't wallers and deadshots deaths (and the quiet dismantling of task force x) executive meddling?

Kind of mainly for Deadshot but they can still use Waller but they killed her off in the present day.

She is still able to appear in Flashbacks.

Deadshot was in Earth 2 on Flash; in that he always missed.

They also dismantled Task Force X because of Executive Meddling.

Anybody seen Stephen Amell's twitter bio? "You're going to love Season 5 of Arrow" It's almost like he's anticipating that people won't like it.

I know it's cool to be all cynical, and I love doing it as much as the next guy, but I'm holding out a sliver of hope that Arrow will become great again. I don't need it to be Season 1 or 2 levels of quality, just first half of Season 3 would be good enough for me.

It just amuses me looking back and recalling all the complaints back then while people calling it now, in retrospect, the glory days. I am hoping Arrow Season 5 turns out well though. Felicity is the problem character I worry about. I know others love to attack Ollie on things, but I still feel things aren't as black & white as some people like to present it and he was making progress up until Felicity's emotionally abusive bullshit made him take a nosedive.

Fire Marc, and maybe Flashpoint can retcon Felicity out of existence.

Otherwise I am not getting my hopes up.

I'm not holding my breath, but there's a chance that it could be decent. It seems to be going back to its roots, and it's been confirmed that there won't be a huge focus on magic and weird shit. I guess that we'll see.

Yeah comic prometheus has one of the coolest villian outfits in dc.....and whys he another bloody archer?!?

Because the show is unoriginal. How many villains have tried the same destroy the city scheme now?

The show has decided that archers work the best as foils or threats to another archer. I guess that it's a 'dark counterpart' thing, but that's basically the main extent of Malcolm's role. It's similar to the notion that Gotham's criminals were fairly normal until Batman donned the cowl. One archer will breed other archers. It's not the best way of handling things, but it's not Darth Damien.

At least Damien had his own gimminck. There's only so many evil archers the show can throw at us before it gets dull.
