The producers have been trying to get a Booster Gold series on Syfy since 2011 and last time we heard anything was in 2013 when Andrew Kreisberg said they pitched it again and that it will exist in the same universe as Arrow.
Next time they brought up Booster Gold was talking about a possible appearance on The Flash.

Thea was called Speedy since the first episode.
Ollie tried to call Roy Speedy once last season and Roy said to never call him that again.
He's been going by Arsenal on Arrow.

Roy thought that Speedy was Oliver's name for him, when he was simply shouting out the connection to his sister, without giving away her name in public.
They call her that ironically, because it's the only drug she's never tried.
Well, originally it was just a reminder of Thea, but apparently somewhere along the line he started actually calling Roy that.
- Lyla: [referring to the Flash] You sure about Speedy?
- Oliver: What? Roy's fine.
Oliver thinks of Roy as a younger brother and Speedy is his general "annoying younger sibling" nickname
I love how vague those descriptions are. I mean, there are the obvious candidates, but there are several other characters with those same attributes.

The only problem I'd (EVER) have with Booster is that since the CWverse doesn't have a Green Lantern yet, we lose all of those jokes.

Possibly it could be either from the Lazarus Pit or time travel. The spin-off is suppose to have a time traveler in the main cast.
Time travel? Fuck that. Bring back Sara for real. None of this time-travel bullshit.
Also @ the suggestions of killing Thea possibly: yeah, because that's exactly what this show needs. More women dying.
