[up][up]Really? I don't watch Gotham, but I'd think it would be the one to have the main setting be "dark and gritty city at nighttime."

[up]Overcast clouds? Eh, guess that's gritty enough.

I wonder if Gotham City's ever had a bright, sunny day in its entire history? Well, besides the Adam West show.

Alright, caught the latest episode. So is it just me, or was this episode nothing but a conga line of people being suicidally stupid? Laurel's clearly not ready to be Black Canary yet, and Thea apparently takes after her brother when it comes to strategies for dealing with the League of Assassins. "Eh, I'm sure I can take this Ra's al Ghul guy. He sounds like a pushover."

I really hope season 3 is going somewhere and building to an epic climax like season 2 did, because so far it's felt like a bunch of disconnected plot points.

Also, Laurel's being too unsympathetic again. It's not as bad as in Season 2, but her interrogation of that thug where she threatened him with an unfair sentence didn't sit well with me, and putting on an elaborate masquerade to convince her dad Sarah's alive is crossing the line.

Yeah, I'm wondering about that myself.

Laurel is probably doing better then you'd expect for someone who only took boxing, but she clearly still has a lot to learn.

I missed the first 15 minutes of this, but I'll catch it tomorrow.

That being said, it looks like Ollie's gonna choose a good time to come back. Nothing like a Battle Royale With Cheese for a Big Damn Heroes moment.

[up][up] Her dad is a cop, and a good one. He'll suspect the truth eventually if she keeps saying Sara is "unavailable". She probably just hopes to find the right moment to tell him about Sara, while as viewers we know there is no such thing as a "right moment". As for Thea, she actually has a very good point. If Ra's is so hellbent on killing them, then he'll do so no matter where they live - at least in Starling they somewhat have a "home advantage". Again, viewer insight tells us otherwise, but it's rather logical from the character's POV.

The Mayor doesn't seem to be very pragmatic. It's rather obvious Brick's organization only holds because of him. Put a bullet between his eyes, and then hire a good negotiator who will calmly explain how releasing the hostages is by and large the smartest thing the thugs could do if they do not wish to spend their lives in a cell.

I just wonder what kind of Grand Finale we'll get. League of Assassins vs. Team Arrow+ featuring Ollie, Roy, Laurel, Dig, Thea, Merlyn and Palmer with Felicity being Mission Control?

On that note, I feel ashamed of saying that, but the more they are on-screen together, the more I am shipping Felicity and Ray.

That might be on purpose honestly. It may be how they make room for Ollie and Laurel.

Once they stop butting heads over her Vigilantism, he might help further train her.

So.... Laurel is still in the dark about Thea killing Sara right?

@spashthebandragon, I'm feeling the exact way there really about her there, especially with regards to the illusion. It's just making things far worse. Honestly, this entire thing with Laurel feels forced as hell still.

[up][up][up]I agree that Laurel's dad is gonna catch on eventually, probably right before he dies dramatically or something. Doesn't make Laurel any more of a jerk, though.

And I really don't see how Thea has "a good point." In fact, the end of the episode makes it pretty clear that Thea's screwed herself over. If Thea and Merlin had gone into hiding like Merlin wanted, at least they wouldn't be sitting ducks. In fact, I'd be amazed if Thea's braindead plan actually worked. "Well, what do you know, the two of us successfully fought off the entire League of Assassins all by ourselves!"

I, too, ship Felicity and Ray.

And I'm guessing the season finale is going to be the League initiating some kind of large-scale plan to destroy Starling, since 1) that's what the League of Assassins does and 2) that's what both season finales so far have been (Well, season 1 was just the Glades, but still).

I'd have a stronger position on deceiving Laurel's Dad if I knew why they couldn't tell him Sara was dead. 'Because it would make him sad' is a silly reason and unsustainable long-term, so is it something to do with the League of Assassins putting him in danger?

I think Thea just doesn't appreciate the threat the League is fully, due to ignorance (which is fair, given that I suspect Malcom has not been exactly detailed about his involvement) and Malcom...dunno.

Maybe he's just too aware of how dangerous it is and figured they can't run forever, lets just die in happy family glory.

He's not the sanest person around. (That wuld be Walter)

In defense of Laurel, Quentin kept the fact that Sara was alive a secret from her as well. So did Oliver.

[up] x5: Come on, the League knew where Malcolm & Thea were going no matter what, Evil!DJ had heard that she planned to leave, somehow. And earlier in the episode, we saw them track one of their own, which is supposedly much more difficult than finding the whereabouts of one of the most famous persons in Starling City whose face everyone knows since she appeared on screen alongside her mother during the S2 elections. She has a good point in the fact that whether they leave or not, the League will find them - she is wrong in thinking she should not be afraid, but that is on Merlyn not telling her anything, not on her.

Of course, they actually will have a better chance in Starling, since one way or another they'll end up with Team Arrow's help. Yes, Thea has no way of knowing that, but as has been pointed out repeatedly, she is also severely underestimating the League. You'd think Malcolm could mention "R'as al Ghul is the man who trained me, and makes me look like a flailing child. He is literally the most dangerous man on the planet without an inch of exaggeration." Sure, she might not believe him, but at least he can give her an answer that doesn't involve explaining everything about Ollie.

Here's a thought why didn't the DJ asking Thea about her leaving town set off red flags since Malcolm was the only one to even suggest that idea?

[up]Probably because her business is in the Glades and it is turning into No Man's Land where Brick took over and the cops aren't allowed.

That is probably what she thought he was talking about when he mentioned getting out of town.

Yeah. I actually have very little problem with Laurel's characterization throughout the series, but her Knight Templar attitude towards her position isn't new and is one of the few things that seriously bugs me about her - though that's less because she's like that and more or less because, unlike Ollie's Knight Templar attitude towards his job, they don't really draw attention to it.
