You've done the right thing, Ubisoft. In the words of Master Blaster, lift embargo.
If I have a legit CD, I can install it on as many computers as I want?
This "faculty lot" you speak of sounds like a place of great power...^ I think that's a yes...
Also...YESSSSSSS! Ubi finally stop being stupid!

Give me cute or give me...something?I'll wait and see if they actually to go through with this. They mentioned this earlier during the year, but never went throught with it.
If they actually go through with this I might finally buy Assassin's Creed to celebrate.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."Another good read, this time from Gamasutra
Give me cute or give me...something?- single tear of joy -
Too late Ubisoft, you already said I'm a thieving piece of shit that doesn't deserve your Assassins Creed. And I played the Xbox versions too.
"But don't give up hope. Everyone is cured sooner or later. In the end we shall shoot you." - O'Brien, 1984Hmm, isn't that new Rayman game DRM-free?
"Hipsters: the most dangerous gang in the US." - Pacific MackerelHuh, now I might actually think about buying a Ubisoft game, for once.
Didn't they already say they were going to do this a while back and not follow up on it? If they're being serious, and if they remove it from games that already have it, I'll start buying their PC games again.
Yes, the new Rayman game is DRM-free.
Also, I think the backlash they received was a little over-the-top, even if some of it was deserved.
so Ubisoft finally realized that if they had a 90 some percent piracy rate, that their DRM was obviously failing miserably anyhow?
The DRM pissed off a whole lot of people who would never have pirated them, but didn't like being called scum for being pc gamers.
Not me, I can't stand most of Ubisoft's latest output, so couldn't be bothered.
I wonder if this means that they finally got it through their thick bent skulls that if PC gamers are going to be called pirating thieving scum either way, they'll decide that they might as well enjoy the benefits of actually being pirating thieving scum (like, say, actually being able to play the -ing game that they would have -ing paid for, any -ing time they feel like and not just when Ubisoft says it's ok).
...though I suppose there's something to be said for keeping my expectations realistic.

Well, well. Now I might try one of these Assassins Creed games I hear good things about.
Panhandling sign glued to hands. Need $5 for solvent. One of the reasons why I got Silent Hunter III off of Steam, as the DRM killed itself on the DVD copy I bought originally.
Yay, no more stupid discs to lose and crap. Problem solved.
Happiness is zero-gee with a sinus cold.
Just like that.
