Wrong trope! The image is of Jafar from Disney's Aladdin. Jafar is an Evil Vizier and a Grand Vizier, not a Treacherous Advisor. He's treacherous, he's an advisor, but he's not a seemingly reliable mentor whom the heroes and audience trust the whole way through the story until The Reveal where he turns out to secretly be a very important villain. The image is not of an example of the trope and must be replaced or at least cut asap.

"The image is not of an example of the trope and must be replaced or at least cut asap."

Was with you until that last sentence. Relax.

Right. Pull.

Also, he is on the page for Evil Chancellor, which both of the above redirect to, which is skirting the line of being a duplicate image.

Jafar is the subject of the Classic Villain image too. And Scaled Up. Don't think that makes any difference unless we're considering an alternative. "Not an example" seems like it might be a good reason to take it down, "character is pictured on other articles" does not.

(Also, agree that he doesn't fit on Treacherous Advisor, but I think that's an excellent picture for Evil Chancellor. There is probably some way for it to be even better for that page, but I can't imagine how.)

Duplicate image is, to my knowledge, never a reason to pull an image without replacement. The point for pulling in this case is that it's misleading, which means it's actively harming the page.

I tried to look for a replacement, but considering it's a spoiler trope, it's a little hard, and those who aren't spoilers would probably end up JAFAAC.

Jafar's fine, he's an epically troperiffic character as it is.

[up] do you mean for Treacherous Advisor, or one of the other pages mentioned in the thread? He's no good for the original subject of the thread (Treacherous Advisor), because he's not an example. I agree that it should be pulled.

I don't see how being "epically troperrific" is relevant.

My bad. I thought the complaint against him was that he was on a bunch of trope pages and thus were duplicate images, not that he didn't fit.

The clock's up, and since the consensus is to pull the pic for not actually being an example of the trope, it's gone. Locking up.
