The chapter narration and Eren himself explicitly refer to him in the past tense. Do we have to see him cremated and his ashes thrown to the ocean?

muscles show through skin. More so if you don't have a lot of fat and your skin is melted a little. There are pictures of Reiner earlier in the chapter which do show his face without skin and you can see the muscles clearly. in the picture you share, you can only barely see more muscle than normal. it is clear is skin is just burned, not removed.

people can and have survived worst burns than that. Also remember that time the narration made it sound like Historia took the colossus titan serum instead of Rod? or made it look like Jean died?

He's just a little charbroiled! He's still good! He's still good!

But yeah. He's dead. Like, completely. I really truly do not think it can be debated how dead he is. Not only is he merely dead, he's truly most sincerely dead.

Given Isayama's history of not killing any main characters, I kind of doubt he'll start with Armin.

Now, until we see someone stick the titan formula in his body and turn him into one (or however anyone thinks he'll be saved), I'm gonna call it as I see it.

The amount of denial in this fandom is too damn high! Okay, lets say for a moment that Armin is somehow still clinging to life: Levi has only one serum, and of the two blondes who are currently dying, the one he actually gives a shit about is a hell of a lot closer to his position.

Also, with the argument that "people can and have survived worse burns than that", are we talking about people living within the walls, or real people living in first world countries with access to the best that modern medicine has to offer?

what do you mean denial in the fandom? Every chapter people insist someone will die and are wrong every time. I am fine with Armin dying, But I don't think it is going to happen.

I'm kinda amused by Eren's reaction.You'd think he'd be more emotional.

Yes but in those situations the claim of death precedes the chapter. Armin got chargrilled on-screen, and we can very clearly see his corpse.

I dunno, I can't exactly recall any deaths where the body was so...intact. There is usually a bloody mess of some sort.

Maybe because of how important Armin is, they are doing something different, but something doesn't seem right.

He looks like he has third degree burns. he doesn't look like a corpse to me.

Not to mention Eren didn't kill Bertolt and took him over to Armin. I think he plans to cut Bertolt's spine and force it down Armin throat. That should work as a titan serum.

There's really no point in debating the evidence when the chapter's only three days away. It's all up to Isayama anyway.

Armin survived? I knew it.

I guess Talking Is a Free Action then, since if he's not titaned up soon he's really gonna be dead. Do they make up their minds by the end of the chapter at least?

Having said, that, I'm both glad Armin survived (at least for now apparently, and disappointed at the same time.

looking at the pages it is clear Armin has third degree burns but his skin is not melted. I am not sure why people keep saying he is melted. his muscles are not showing his skin is just red or black from being burned

Third degree by definition means both epidermis and dermis are completely destroyed

If Armin is still alive... he is probably in a state he pretty much wish he wasn't

Third degree burns are really really painful (basically because your flesh is burnt to the nerves, so some nerves are constantly shooting pain signals off and this can last even after the burns are healed) and without the serum it's very likely he will die otherwise as very few people survive from the impending amounts of bacterial infections that ensues thereafter especially considering the fact that AOT's level of technology suggests that their medical equipment isn't the best.

So yeah, one serum and two people to choose.
