The game's too short, with nearly no substance and no replay value whatsoever.

Its kind of a gag game I think thats kind of the point.
I will not lie. I thought this was made by Capcom or EA. Or Valve.(last one would be awesome XD)
But interesting. Could be neat.
Quest 64 threadIt's coming to Steam as well.
Jonah FalconI would accept those rebuttals if it weren't for how I saw it on Steam Greenlight. People really give this game too much credit for what it is. I agree that it's funny and doesn't cost very much, don't get me wrong.
Steam Greenlight =/= Steam

^^ It's still in Greenlight, so may or may not be? But yeah, the game is WAY too short...

Give me cute or give me...something?It's like a freeware game they charge money for. Even if it isn't much, it's still questionable.
People aren't as awful as the internet makes them out to be.Jesus, you are hostile to indie developers. If you don't want to buy it, don't buy it.
Jonah FalconI don't think anyone has said anything hostile to indies in general here... or to the game, really, except pointing out that the game's too short.
Being an indie (do note that I am one myself) does not make the creator immune to criticism. Nor does being satire.
This game has the content level of your average flash game. And it costs money despite that. It is a valid criticism.

I might buy it for $1 and never play it. How ya like them apples?
Jonah FalconIts gag game and 1 dollar isn't that much
Does not affect me at all. Why should I care if you willingly hand them a dollar?
Your responses aren't exactly at a level where a discussion can happen, it seems.

Dude, Jonah, just because an indie developer makes a short $1 game doesn't mean we are obligated to buy it and like it. And nobody is hostile to indie developers-hell, I think we all like them, but it's irrational to construe criticism of this game as hostility towards indie devs.
"Hipsters: the most dangerous gang in the US." - Pacific MackerelI find it ridiculous that you guys are arguing about 1 dollar gag game at all And by you I mean both Jonah and others. Its whole point is being Take That! to DLC, does anyone really expect anything special about that? :P Well, okay, there are great cheap indie games that are awesome, but still
Even at such a low price point, value still matters.
"Hipsters: the most dangerous gang in the US." - Pacific MackerelIts one dollar :P Pretty much everything is worth more than one dollar. Just drop it and move on.
Ehhh... Satire's kind of good? I suppose? But why would I waster money on an extremely short game when there's tons of games out there like that, that are free?
You got some dirt on you. Here's some more!Achievement Unlocked is also a short satire game, and it doesn't cost a dime.
The base game itself is probably free-of-charge, but that one dollar is for, heh heh, the required on-disc DLC.

There are iPhone apps in which you shake the device and it makes a rattling sound for a dollar.
The entire point is that the dev is raising income for another game.
Jonah FalconUpgrade Complete is a similar concept gameplay-wise, except it satirizes RPG elements instead of DLC.
I don't think paying a dollar for a game like this would be the end of the world but putting on a site where you can get some ad revenue without requiring an initial investment would probably be a better way to monetize it.
I can get supporting an indie dev, but I don't think "Downloadable Content! Am I right?" really deserves a transaction. You could prolly get the same experience from watching a playthrough on You Tube.

Put me in motion, drink the potion, use the lotion, drain the ocean, cause commotion, fake devotion, entertain a notion, be Nova ScotianThat's some awful voiceover work right there.
What happens when DLC goes too far?
