Premise: God-like beings choose people of greatness based on attaining certain criteria. Each one has different criteria besides greatness. Heavy Exalted inspiration.

Names: Are supposed to be references of any kind tweaked to be cool but are also references to what they are or why they choose their champions.

Example: The King Atop The Mountain is the leader. The Great Engine That Would is dead and chooses dead spirits to inhabit machines. The Chooser Of The Slain picks those at the edge of death. Rage Against The End Of Day was the hot headed berserker of the crew.

Problem: Not satisfied with some of the names, them not being references. Prince Upon The Precipice, guarded the border of the King's territory, trickster, chooses those who have endured hardships. The Eye That Sees Nothing is a giant blind eye ball that can be used by others as a crystal ball to see whatever they desire, chooses people at birth to be fated to gain power. Mother Whos Blood Births, parent of the rest, chose bloodlines to carry the potential of great descendants gaining power. Want names that are some kind of reference.

Also: A name for the Eldritch Abominations they set out to fight.

A suggestion for the Eldritch Abominations: cross, for lack of better phrase, the Bishōnen Line of names. Names that are one word long (not counting, perhaps, a "the" first) in a 'verse filled with grand titles imply that these things have been around long enough to get first pick and have very broad power bases to work with. See, among Names to Run Away from Really Fast, The Adjective One and The Person.
