This is another wiki functionality note that Eddie has been asking to have dropped here. No immediate action required.

The Recent Edits page behaves inconsistently depending on how it's queried.

When called without a parameter (https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/el.php ), it gives your own edit history, but the links take you to the article's main view.

When called with a parameter (https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/el.php?findfor=Fighteer ), it gives that troper's edit history, but the links are to the article history view instead. (Moderators also have an additional option on this version of the query.)

They should operate consistently in both modes. For maximum operability, the article link should go to the main view, and there can be a separate "history" hyperlink on each row.

^Both of these URLs have a ) at their end that causes them to malfunction.

Anyway, the point on the edit history that I see is that people looking after people's edits will be after the history and the specific edit rather than the outcome.

Goddamn wiki parser. Fixed.

My point is that the operation of those views needs to be consistent. I think it would work best to have both options available for each edit: the main article and its history.

Both options for the win. Format it as a list like:

Article Name (edit | history)

And do the same on the Related to pages too. Having to view an article and then click its "history" link increases the time required for a Wick Check by like tenfold.

Also? I've always had a devil of a time even figuring out how to FIND my own edits. Randomly clicking links seems to end up getting me there somehow. I would vastly prefer an "own edits" button on my profile.

The button is at the top of your watchlist and available at every wiki page. How is it hard?

You can go to your watchlist, where there is a "my edits" button. This takes you to the first link Fighteer mentioned. On any standard non-forum page, below the "tools" drop-down menu, there is a "Find recent edits by troper:" function. Enter your name in the box, click "find", and it takes you to the other version of your edit history.

That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.

Bumping to gauge interest. Personally, I'd propose to jave just one Changes page, which can be filtered by namespace, nature of edit and troper. Less maintenance overhead and inconsistency this way.

Asked for that, so closing.
