Am I the only person who gets this annoying glitch, where I can't play the Premium Plant Quests?

My game flat out refuses to update. I didn't get the quests in the first place. This has also halted the Piñata Parties, which do not appear any more.

You know, I had forgotten how terrible Big Wave Beach gets.

Day 16 is pure torture, and if you don't get the infini-nut in tiki torch-er very soon in the progression, fishermen zombies become nearly unbeatable.

I found that a field of Fume Shrooms backed by wintermelons work, but only if you get it set up fast and there's nothing else dangerous to deal with. It cost me a freaking 30,000 coins to survive a 5 wave battle with Octopi and Fishermen.

Ohhh boy.

Play today's Pinata Party for April Fools. It's really easy and absolutely freaking hilarious. Enough to go into the "Funny" section for Plants Vs Zombies 2, no less.

Breakdancer zombies should not be allowed to kick gargantaurs or themselves.

When a particularly bad timed thyme warp lets them chain kick a gargantaur all the way straight into a lawnmower, it shows that a nerf is needed.

And modern day survival just feels rigged. There is absolutely nothing that can stop an egyptian portal from instakilling your defensive plants by dropping an explorer right on top of them, portals are always knocking your build around, and there's only two real defences against all-star zombies. If the game doesn't give you either of them, you'll be in for a world of hurt.

Also doesn't help that it doesn't give you any defensive plants at the start, making newspaper zombies much more dangerous than they should be.

The Gold Bloom Epic Quest set in Modern Day opens two portals in the third row. Both of these portals bring in breakdancer and microphone zombies, and the lower one spawns surfers. That feels borderline unfair, but then again, I'm always up for a challenge.

... there's no borderline there.

It's hilariously unfair. But the Gold Bloom is a serious game-changer for me, so it feel okay with having to seriously fight for it.

Seriously, thing is amazing. In endless mode, it either saves me a Plant Food that I'd have used on a Double Sunflower, or it makes Shadow Plants viable. Because the Moon Flower just cannot generate enough sun out of the gate. A quick boost from the Gold Bloom and suddenly that's viable. And I love me the Dusklobber.

Agreed on both points. Gold Bloom is pretty necessary when dealing with the harder survival modes, considering that there's nothing stopping them from spawning an imp then a Gargantaur in the first wave.

My only complaint about gold bloom is that its recharge rate is too slow for it to act as your sole Sun-providing plant.

Well... yeah. I'm pretty okay with that, though. It really shouldn't be.

So... for the first time since my game first deleted itself (back when Far Future came out)... I'm complete. Beaten all Zombosses (though the last one was a HUGE Anti-Climax Boss... it was Frostbite Caves Zomboss and it gave me Lost World plants... but it didn't summon any Zombies at all. I think I literally could not lose).

Nothing left but Endless modes and Pinata Parties, I guess.

Even with an Imitater, it's unlikely to be enough.

Although I do recall using it that way by mistake once. And it does make early game setup easier, which is pretty important when dealing with the higher levels of dangerous survival modes.

Gold Bloom is perfect the way it is I think. It's great for early-game setup, which is arguably the most important part of a stage, but loses when you already have Primal sunflowers set up. Having its recharge rate be faster would be too good.

Agreed. Sure, it'd be peachy if it were better but it'd wreck the balance of the game.

I mean, I'd like it if Wintermelons cost 50 sun and recharged instantly, but that doesn't mean it'd make the game better.

Considering that three rows of wintermelons can kill absolutely everything that doesn't have a method of rapid approach, yeah, that would be fairly broken.

Found this in an email I sent my sister years back. Felt like sharing. (This isn't my work, I found it in a comment on the website for Goblins)

The news says that we should stay indoors. Those of use who are still alive know that staying indoors and waiting, is the last thing that we should do. I can still hear my wife’s screams as they dragged her away. They came through the backyard by the hundreds. Their bodies were moving, but their eyes were dead. Maybe they were human once, but not now. Not anymore.

In the first few weeks, we kept them back with firepower. But the bullets always go faster than you think they will. We’ve lost more than half of our group and panic is beginning to take hold. We’re just about out of food too, so it won’t be long before we can add starvation to our list of problems. Once this was a nice, suburban neighborhood. Now it’s a living hell without hope.

Well, maybe there is one hope. This morning, they attacked again. At first there were only a few of them, but later came more. With no guns or other weaponry, I was doomed. Then something amazing happened. One of those mindless things died! But why? How? What had killed it? That’s when I noticed the pea pods that my wife had planted last month. They were somehow firing peas toward the back of my yard. But the pods could only fire in a straight line! I quickly got to work, planting pea pods across my yard. Soon I had five of them lined up.

I can’t really explain it, but the sunflowers were helping me. Now, everything looks like it just might be okay. I think we might actually… wait… oh dear God help us! One of them has a traffic cone on its head! You monsters! Have you no honour!?

That would actually make for a pretty interesting read, extended over the entirety of the first game.

So new update is out, featuring two new Epic Quests (one Beghouled Blitz and one with Electric Currant)

Electric Currant is pretty cool and it makes Garlic/Sweet Potato more useful indeed.

On the other hand, it's borderline useless without them. The minecart missions were annoying in that you need to constantly micromanage each Currant. Not to mention they seem to die faster than most plants.

The last cart missions were so annoying I had to use my secret move: Power Throw everything.

You know, nothing in this game convinces me more of the developers "I don't care" attitude than Beghouled Blitz.

When pretty much my only opinion of something is a recurring "this is just disgusting", it means there's something severely wrong.

The problem is, that I feel as if there has been no thought or effort put into balancing these levels, and they just said "Hey, let's have a level in the ice age", "how about a level in the jungle temple?" etc.

Zombies have a very easy time punching long lines of destruction through your lawn, simply because you have very little control over where your plants are. And if there's a single match, even if it's going to break your defensive line up pretty badly, the board will not reset until you make it.

Probably the jungle one is the best example of what I hate about them. It drops a lot of zombies in the middle lane where you can't do anything about them but watch them break up the board, punishes you for having ranged lobbed plants by sending in a large wave of parasol zombies, and then follows them up with turquoise skull zombies.

It's something that could easily be countered if I could control the board, but I can't. I just line up matches and hope that it falls into place, and that's pretty much what I loathe about the conveyor belt levels.

Note that I was completely broke due to today's Pinata party, so this is essentially a free-2-player's opinion, but I still think it's a valid point that the deck is stacked way too far against you to be considered fun.

Yeah... between the "oh, you want to refill a hole? It costs coins!" and "completely boned? It costs coins to shuffle!" it just feels... token.

Like, I really like it in principle. It's a potentially fun mode. But it feels incredibly phoned in.

It looks like the Pinata Parties for the PVZ 2 Birthday only yield gems and costumes. It would be a nice gift if not for the fact I've already gotten all the gemium plants. They should really introduce a new one.

Do any PVZ savants have tips on how to deal with Jurassic Marsh survival mode? The best I can come up with is as many primal peashooters as possible, and use Zen garden to remove any Ankylosaurs and Jurassic bullies, but that doesn't feel right to me.
