Does anybody know any comic book artists both old and new who can get creative with the page layout but it can still be readable? I mean like Steranko.
NOT holding a Shoe PhoneJ.H. Williams III for a modern example. Also, Jae Lee when he's inspired. His awesome layouts make Before Watchmen - Ozymandias worth reading just by themselves. Sean Phillips did some very interesting things with the panel layouts in Sleeper (cf. this exemple).
Shit-kickerDave Sim, creator of Cerebus, is probably one of the masters of panel layout and lettering. The things that man can do to a page are amazing.
