It's basically an exhortation for the person to swallow their pride and admit they were wrong. Or, in the case of my family, it's an empty piece of rhetoric used to silence dissent.

I'm going to take my friend's advice and start countering every mention of "YOLO!" with "YODO(T)!" note 

YOLO is shaping up to be the death of the English language and the death of people in general.
