[up][up][up] As for the yet unidentified Mental Models, I hope that they are from American fleets. As fun as the Oriental fleets were, it's the time for the story to move east.

There's also the European theatre they've left mostly unexplored, other than some of the biggest players in the series.

The thing is, Iona isn't sailing to Europe, she's sailing to the west-coast USA. Thus, for the most part, the European theater will remain out of focus. Unless Musashi gets promoted from her current role of appear-once-per-volume girl.

Okay, quick question: Did the giftbox already arrived in US? Cannot following the manga, busy at work.

Nope, it got sidetracked. The Hakugei's stopped for a while waiting for orders, and at the same time interacting with Repulse and Vampire.

So the Mental Model with glasses is Choukai? Huh, now that you guys mention it, I can't help but chuckle at the fact that both Arpeggio and KanColle versions of Choukai are meganekkos... grin

Also, I guess another (more meta) reason why she has that "Sinking Club" sign on her apron is because her real-life shipwreck is the deepest at 8,100 meters/26,600 feet.

O-o-o-okay, chapter 81 is up in English and...

Why is I-401 going back to Japan as has minister Kamikage bring a whole set of navy officers to their meeting?

Also read chapters 80 and 81, and...

80: Woah, who are the new Mental Models in that cover page? Also, so the "Sinking Club" is a group of Fog ships sunk by Gunzou in his previous exploits with Iona before the current story actually began?

81: I wonder what Ryoukan Kita and I-402 will be discussing in the next chapter?

chapter 82 preview is up and... Takao gets her hull back! And, apparently, this finally got Atago to confront her sis. And then there is yet another flashback to the times when it was just Gunzou and Iona. No idea what's going on in there, though... NB: learn Japanese.

Takao is popular. And sometimes, you don't need a colour manga to know what colour something is.

Next chapter could be interesting.

Chapter 83 raws are out, and...

Makie is now something of a sonar operator for Maya. Meanwhile, Takao got herself a girlfriend. And I personally found it quite funny how Takao was fed some lunch by Sakura in the Institute like everything is peaceful and quiet, while simultaneously being engaged in a skirmish with Maya.

Wasn't (vice-?) admiral Uragami aboard Hakugei? What is he doing in a meeting between Iona and Kamikage? At least, Iori is finally getting proper medical help.

Chapter 84 is out. These conversations between 402 and Kita are interesting. Love Zuikaku's reactions when she's given the greenlight to go fishing.

Of course she'd like that.

One of my favourite things in the entire manga is the interactions between Fog ships and humans, excluding Iona and crew.

It's probably because we know that, at least in the manga, that Iona's been interacting with people long enough that there's very little discomfort in the interactions between her and her crew. All the other Fog ships... Well, let's just say that they're all a little bit awkward.

Not probably. Exactly why. And that's the fun part. Well, less about the discomfort and more about communicating from two different viewpoints.

By the way, anyone feel that the current quote on Manga.Arpeggio Of Blue Steel is appropriate? I've been suggested to change it to the "Where do we come from? What are we? Where are we going?" quote.

You know, Haruna looks a lot older with normal clothes. Also, she makes some rather interesting expressions during that memory bit.

[up] Yeah, Haruna looks a lot more mature when she's wearing the Institute's uniform. And, truth to be told, I think all Metal Models that ever donned that Uniform looked good in it.

Also, that memory was Yamato's, wasn't it?

Yep, those were Kotono's/Yamato's memories. Wonder why she let Haruna see them, though.

Continuing with the flashbacks...

This month, it is a scene from Iori's past that we're seeing. And, wow, I didn't expect our Wrench Wench to be a daughter of a very well-off family. Also, she apparently gets her looks from her late mother.

So, apparently, it was actually Atago (pretending to be Takao) who showed Haruna and Kirishima those memories. Furthermore, Yamato made those memories non-shareable via JTN.

Meanwhile Ise is getting territorial and so Lady Lex decides to use U-2501 to sneak past her.

Damn, Admiralty Code looks uncanny. Did Ark Performance suddenly forget how to draw faces? That, and she needs a prettier haircut.

Also, what does the Fleet of Fog even need a freakin' space elevator for?

That's the thing though — hasn't it been shown that the Fleet of Fog doesn't know what it's even supposed to be doing, since it's awakening at the tail end of World War two was an accident?

As for orbital stuff, heck most of the so-called Flagship equipment are located in space anyway.

[up] They can casually warp space-time (well, not so casually - Super-Graviton Cannons till needs lots of power and processing time, but still). Why something so ...mundane as a space elevator that uses good ol' cables? Aside from sending Gunzou x2 to the orbit

Space elevators are cheap way to get stuff into space. Even if the Fog has excessive power, there is no reason for them to waste it.
