"Who's Rosalina?"
"wh—sh— SHE'S FROM MARIO GALAXY, YA DINGIS!"
"Well I ... never played Mario Galaxy so..."
Yeah I'm siding with Arin. A 1-minute visit to Tumblr, Pivix, Tvtropes, or Wikipedia will tell you who Rosalina is without playing the game!
Why would he do that when he can just ask the actual person sitting next to him?
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."... it's one of my pet peeves. Why ask someone if you have the Internet and Google to give you the answer in a minute? ... granted, he was playing a game and wasn't on a browser at the time...
I don't think "don't ask; just Google it!" applies when the person who presumably knows off the top of their head is physically present, especially when you are currently engaged in speaking to them about the subject. That's how conversations tend to work; it would be pretty strange if everyone's reaction was to say "Oh" and change the subject every time you brought up something they hadn't heard of.
What's your expectation, that they pause the episode while Dan leaves to look it up, or that Dan quietly lets the subject drop for the rest of the playthrough?
Text I feel is necessary to append to every post...... I think I'm catching on to the reason for the "mysterious" lack of Mii Verse notes in the Mario 3D World videos.

They've got a new Grump Room with no Internet?
........ what??
They have directly stated that their new grump room was having some wifi issues, and thus they couldn't connect to Miiverse. At least, that's what happened in the most recent episodes.

I thought it was to avoid any incident like someone mentioning Jon Tron there.
Nothing so dramatic.
After A Gemeran Spy said he gave a copy of Dark Souls and Demon's Souls to Game Grumps but heard they never finished, I decided to try watching them. The only grump I knew at the was Arin because of his Metal Gear Awesome series and Sequelitis videos. When I was done watching, I decided that they weren't for me in the gameplay or humor department.
Today's Mario 3D world video is basically an entire riff on how Arin treats Dan on this series1! :D
This is going to be painful for the next few weeks, isn't it?
With Arin shouting for no good reason all the time (with the exception of today's episode) and Dan being an incompetent dick for no good reason for most of it...
Ugh.
I read on the GG tvtropes page that Dan 1.) has trouble playing 3D games due to some way he can or cannot see 3D space on a screen, and 2.) he's playing with a different kind of controller, though he may have switched since then.
Now, of course, the entire shtick has gotten old, at least to me.
It'll probably take a fair bit longer for the hardcore fans to get tired of it, too.:/

I must be the only one here who finds their banter funny and hasn't gotten tired of it.

I've actually found the Super Mario 3D Land series funny as well. I view the ineptitude on Danny's part as a consequence of the the skill disparity (it's clear that Danny isn't that experienced with 3D Mario games in general: hasn't played Galaxy or Sunshine, doesn't have a clear grasp on old abilities or when to apply them) and the game turning everything in multiplayer into a competition (meaning you're dissauded from allowing the other player to get things like green stars). It helps that Arin has contributed to both points, meaning that he brings it on himself to an extent.
I also find Toad funnier as an incompetent sidekick than Luigi. Probably because of his voice stature, and playstyle.

Yeah, he said in one of the earlier episodes (and has said a few times during previous series) that he has trouble with depth perception in 3d games, which is a big part of why he didn't do much gaming after the SNES era.
As for my two cents, I also really get a kick out of watching Dan try to fuck Arin over in this playthrough.
