The only thing I can think of that would get enough of the trope across is Darkseid saying the quoted dialogue on the page.
Yeah, this says "Exalted" to me more than "dystopian science-fiction/fantasy." Granted, it says "Solar Exalted God-King" to me, but that's a coincidence because of the bejeweled golden armor and glowing light.
We need, like, a dude on a throne with clearly mortal dudes worshipping him.

Ditto for Septimus. The halo-ish thing, the crazy eagle statue, the ornate armor. Seems straight forward enough. Might be better images out there, but this is good enough till we find a better one.

Some of those are almost as good as the current one. The rest are worse.
Most of them aren't good, but I think some of the Warhammer examples are better than the current one.
It's too bad there isn't a larger image of him being shiny and golden on a throne with people bowing in worship. That would get across both "god" and "emperor."

That third image of the Emperor makes me realize just how ridiculous 40k can be when it plays up the "badass" too much.
Besides that, maybe a different pic of a pharaoh would work better? The outfits scream "Ancient Ruler" so all we need is a shot that emphasizes divinity. Time to rewatch Stargate for a screencap!

I tried to find a screencap of Ra just as he sits down on the throne with his hands out and the mask on, but saw none. And my computer is programmed to be incapable of taking screenshots of DVD's anything because of stupid effing copywrite lawyers.
The DVD is just sitting there, mocking me. :(

I'm beginning to think this is one that's gonna have to go without a pic until we get a slam-dunk illustration.
Keep Until Better Image Suggested for me. It's not a great image, but its not misleading or anything.
I've criticised the current picture in the past, but other people pointed out that it has the fancy gold armour (implying "emperor") and the halo (implying "god"). It's decent.

The fancy gold armor really doesn't imply Emperor much though. I remember there's at least one shot of the Emperor sitting on the Golden throne before he was permanently interred in it, and he still has the halo and glowy eyes.
I agree the current one works.

The first one is the first one in this thread I think it better than the current one.
While I'm a fan of Warhammer 40000, I must admit that this particular picture of the EMPRAH really would be Just A Face And A Caption to anyone who doesn't know much about 40k. In fact, if you showed me this picture without telling me what page it was on, I'd assume it was the image for Bling of War...Because, you know, solid gold terminator armor.
There's almost certainly better pictures of the EMPRAH that illustrate his "divinity", and even if there isn't, this page really needs a different picture IMHO.
