He's a fairly decent character, I'd say. A Lovable Rogue Deadpan Snarker with a few Troll characteristics and a love for gambling spliced with some Gentleman Thief trappings.
The 90's produced many terrible things, but Gambit and Deadpool are two of the ones who came out unscathed.
