what the fuck
goddamnit
I never thought I'd say this, but I'm now genuinely worried about the future of Pixar.
Easy street has no parking signs. It seems that Dreamworks is picking up Pixar's slack.
...
Okay. That's it. We're done here.
-walks out-
I'm starting to hear these are just unsubstantiated rumors - and in particular, Andrew Stanton, the reported director of Finding Nemo 2, is suggesting on Twitter that the rumors are at the least miseleading.
All of these are being sourced from the same Deadline article...though admittedly, Deadline is scary good at getting inside scoops.
Phew! Although, even as a rumor, I do NOT want a sequel for Toy Story or Finding Nemo. Monster University I do plan on seeing though.

Finding Nemo could work with the right angle. I'm not sure what story there is left with Toy Story, though, they wrapped up every single plot and character thread with the last movie.
If they make a Toy Story sequel I will loose all of my respect.
For what it's worth, if either of those happen, they're still not going to happen before the next three non-sequel projects come out. This is very far out.
So the Toy Story 4 rumor was started by Tom Hanks in a BBC interview.
Well, I honestly don't see what they could make for a Nemo sequel, but I respect your opinion.
If they did, I won't lose respect for them, but I will be highly disappointed.
I guess Tom Hanks really wanted to voice Woody again. :/

I don't really have any plot ideas for a Nemo sequel, but the ending to that film left the universe and characters open while resolving the film's central conflict, so theoretically a good sequel is possible that explores the new character dynamics from the end of the last film.
But that's just me looking at it as a writer. You could also easily just do a cheap cash in that everyone hates.
From what I understand, the Toy Story 4 rumors are actually 2 Toy Story TV specials in the works.
OK, so looking through Stantons twitter, a few days ago he was joking on what to name a Nemo sequel. I really hope this whole thing didn't spawn out of a twitter joke

I actually could see a deeper look into the developing relationship between Marlin and Dory as a plot point/subplot for a second Nemo movie, actually. 'Trying to become an actual Mom', or something like that. We saw very little Nemo/Dory interaction in the first movie, and I think there's a story that might be told there.
I dunno. I can see more possibilities in a sequel to Nemo than one to Wall-E, Up, A Bugs Life or Ratatouille.

While I don't want to be the first to say "Ruined Forever", and we'll have to see the damn movie in the first place, sometimes, these kind of reactions happen because of a patron, a mould: in most cases, sequels suck, or maybe they don't, but are far from being as good as the original.
It may be a good movie? OF COURSE! It's far from being impossible. However, it's not completely irrational to suppose one thing or two about the quality it may have.

Blah blah blah, whining whining whining.
I could live with that. That'd actually be a fairly good story.

-Goes to the bingo on the first page.-
I WIN! I WIN! WHAT DO I GET?
(In fairness, I really would like to see the planned Pixar movie based off the Día de los Muertos festival. Because Grim Fandango: The Movie would be the best thing ever.)

I'm having to learn to pay the priceWell, seeing as this is false, it time for this thread to die.
Moral of the story: Don't believe everything on the internet.
Okay now the thread can die. |D

What if it were as good or better than Toy Story 3?
We've talked about this on the Toy Story 4 thread.
People don't want it because 3 ended the series perfectly.
Looking for some stories?I bet in another few years we'll be saying, "But Toy Story 4 ended the series perfectly! Why make a Toy Story 5?"
I think Andrew Stanton has degenerated into self-loathing after John Carter, and is now trying as hard as he can to punish himself.
Then again, I could just be projecting my feelings onto this..

Okay, Toy Story 4 is where I draw the motherfucking line.
