@Sijo: My only complaint is that you made Logan sound a bit too bloodthirsty. The way I portrayed him is someone who is trying very hard to be less violent and is gradually succeeding. He would want to see a guy like Hammer brought to justice, but not outright kill him due to Hammer being a spineless Corrupt Corporate Executive. In fact, there are very few people he actually would consider murdering outright but holds back anyway to honor those he loves. He will anyway if they threaten his loved ones, though......

[up][up] At least they still survive, right? I don't think anyone will ever portray Iron Man as well as Misty did.

[up][up]True. At the same time though, characters being picked up and dropped repeatedly my multiple players ends up making them feel ephemeral; there's no sense of continuity for them, since every player who selects that character will want to do their own thing. For Deadpool it sort-of works, given his character, but Daredevil is flipflopping on his personality and motivations.

Also, is anyone else having problems with their thread watchlist (namely, that all the threads seem to have disappeared)?

I am of the opinion we should give someone else the chance to use Iron man. Yes nobody will write him like Mysty but that's ok. I think grate could have done a fantastic job, for instance. Seren's Winter soldier is a living prove that other people can continue a legacy just as well, if not better.

We all try to respect the original's views as much as possible, but so is the nature of art to put something of ourselves into what we write and what we do.

and self criticism time!smile

  1. Mary marvel :She is too perfect, I've to give her some flaws or she will be boring.
  2. Lefay: Currently in a writting block, but I should write soontongue.
  3. Supergirl: I need to rely of showing instead of telling.

If Grate were still around, I might've asked you guys if he was worthy to take on the mantle of Iron Man, seeing as that was his first choice. But, as it stands, it looks like it'll be up to me to continue on in with Tony as an NPC.

Barring a miraculous return from Mysty or someone feeling they're up to the task, of course.

@Liz

I just said that because I would like to Tony to still be around rather than being unusedtongue.

But now that I l kow that it wont be the case. I've 100% faith in your writing skills and happy you will write for him.

At this stage in the game, it would raise far too many questions for Tony to vanish in a puff of smoke. Dude's way too important to the JA and its image. Not saying I can do the dialogue a third as well as Mysty, but I'll definitely endeavour to keep him a presence.

The only real drawback is that a couple of plots with Anti-Tony antagonists will have to be rethunk, but a GM's gotta do what a GM's gotta do what a GM has to perform.

I think Seren worked really well with Winter Soldier because she was a new player. If one of us already existing players takes over Tony, it might not give him enough of a chance to shine. It's a role that needs to be reserved for new players, something we need more of too.

@Ud: sorry, I didn't mean to make Wolverine sound too bloodthirsty. Quite the opposite, in fact- I'm tired of his being presented as a "maim/kill is a first option" type (how the hell did they allow him in the X-Men, much less The Avengers, that way?) I also wanted him to complain that civilization has too many hypocritical rules, and he liked it better in the wild. Just throwing in a little bit of characterization you know?

@Sijo: Its not really civilization itself Wolverine despises, its the douches who either run it (lawmakers, politicians, big business, etc.) or make it worse (criminals, supervillains, violent psychopaths, etc.). He also prefers civilization over the wilderness, as he fears becoming a ravenous animal without restraints being constantly put on him (though hedoes get annoyed that he can't just punch people in the face whenever they annoy him or kill villains who clealry don't deserve to live instead of putting them through court).

In a way, being drly snarky and having a basic attitude of "just don't give a crap unless necessary" greatly helps as well. It a developed defense mechanism after a possibly centuries long life of violence, bloodshed, and immense loss and betrayal.

@Ud: I agree with your assessment (though some writers don't apparently.) Again, that was what I was trying to say, sorry if I came short.

Question: I just realized- the Spear of Destiny is what causes the Nazi Sphere of Influence- whose purpose (in the comics) was to keep the most powerful heroes (the ones who could end the war quickly) out of Europe and Japan until D-Day at least. So, should we leave it in the past or just run with it?

(Two face) Harvey dent's interview

Hope you guys enjoy our first character interview. Please tell me if you want to be next!

Interviews aren't canon as they break the fourthwall. But in the spirit of the RP and to give them context, so they don't feel as answering to the air they are being done by Intrepid Reporter Chloe Sullivan.

Daily planet's interview column. By Chloe S. Sullivan.

Chloe: Today we have a very special interviewee who as agreed to answer the questions you, our audience send us. Ex-lawyer, past D.A, lover of dual natures and current crime lord running for mayor, Harvey Dent also known as Two face. He has agreed to lend us a bit of his time and talk about his struggles with rival crime bosses, aliens, crazy wizards and even against himself. Without further ado here is what he had to say:

1.-Does your face itch, or are the nerve endings dead? And if it does itch, does it bother both of you, or just one?

I don't know, how about we throw some acid in your face, you can find out firsthand!

"The nerve endings are dead. Do you truly believe we would still be able to function if they were not?

2.-How does one obtain a two-headed coin?

Is this seriously a question? They invented google for a reason!

"You can typically find fake versions at any novelty shop. As for real coins that were misprinted with two heads, those are much harder to obtain."

3-Do you think of yourself as two different people, or two sides of the same person?

"Two sides of the same."

People like to think we're unique, that no one else is like us. Those people are fucking lying to themselves.

"Everyone has a dark side, whenever or not they like to admit it. It may not necessarily be as...violent as my own, but it exists."

And anyone who says otherwise is full of shit!

4-What is keeping you away from Gotham? What do you like about your new home?

"The same thing that is keeping half the criminals away. Batman."

Seriously, fuck him. Always fucking with our plans.

"He does not understand that he is part of the problem. He broke the mob, yes. Child's play. But he ushered in something much worse, and his continued crusading has proven an ineffective method of control."

as for the other part of the question, we like that there's no fucking batman!

"We like that the political situation was so weak that we were able to quickly emerge as front-runner for the mayor's seat. That was a convenient twist of fate."

5-Are you really IN LOVE with poison ivy?

"That....is a complicated question"

Short answer, sort of, but he's too much of a pussy to risk it because he knows exactly what the fuck I would do if he did.

"...I will not dignify that with a response."

Why, cause you know it's true?

Two Face simply rolls his eyes.

6-Can I ask you some legal questions?

That depends. You gonna pony up the consultation fee? Time is fucking money!

"We have, in the past, advised some of our fellow Gotham criminals in their criminal proceedings. Many don't typically need it, the insanity defense being a popular option that does not require much effort in Gotham. Penguin is a frequent one, when his latest lawyer makes a mistake and gets shot."

Then we get to charge him more as blackmail! Good times.

"We will consider it, for the right price. These elections cost a lot of money after all."

7-if you didn't have a coin, how would you chose anything?

Choose? We'd just be back to what happened before it, stuck in a constant fucking struggle for control and randomly switching who was in control.

"The coin, you see, was adapted as a compromise between us. There was a great many things we could not agree on, and after some...unfortunate events, I convinced him to negotiate."

Forced, more like. I still think you were bluffing when you threatened to off yourself

"And yet you never tested me on that. Curious."

8-If you flipped a coin to decide reforming yourself, would you stop being a criminal?

"We tried that at first. Didn't work."

Come on, tell em why, Dent

"We tried staying in the asylum, reforming. Nothing they tried worked."

I can't be killed. Not without killing Dent too.

"After months with no progress, we decided that we were stuck like this. In that time, even stuck in the asylum, it was clear to that the government was unequipped to deal with the new threat that Batman had caused to emerge. A new tactic was needed. A new method of control. We looked to the past for inspiration. In the past, the stranglehold of the mob had held Gotham's crazy's in check. When they fell, their protection fell with them, and Gotham fell into chaos."

God, I'm bored. How long you gonna go on, Dent? They got other questions to ask!

"So we decided that, in order to correct the mistake, we would have to rebuild the power and control of the mobs of old. In order to control the criminals of Gotham, we would have to become a power they would respect and fear. That would only be possible by becoming criminals ourselfs.

   Ok, he's done. NEXT QUESTION!

9-Are you still disbarred?

"Yes. The board did not take kindly to our initial rampage after the incident."

Assholes. You're better off without them looking over your shoulder!

"I would prefer them over you."

   Fuck you too, Dent

10-How do you feel about Lefay and Savage around?

"Savage provides money and connections for the election. We cannot trust him fully as of yet. But he is a necessary component to the plan."

I still think we could have done it without him. We'd only have needed to rob a few banks to fund it.

"At considerable cost and risk."

   Pussy

"As for Lefay, she has her uses, but her involvement in our lives has proven much more trouble then anticipated."

All this magic bullshit gets really fucking annoying after a while!

Chloe: Thank you for your time Mr dent. One thing is for sure we won't see a coin the same way again. Don't forget to read our next column were we interview some of the most important people in the world. On the daily planet we go straight to the source!

(quietly leaves the building, while he is distracted arguing with himself, before he decides whether or not to kill me with his coin).
