I have noticed we have been very inactive lately. I think that's good, in part, as it's a sign everyone is busy in their lives and doing wellsmile.

But I would like to take a chance to ask for some missing players. Namely Mysty, Ichigo, uncandescent and Saturn (I hope they do comeback) smile.

@Liz I also had some interactions with She hulk! Mainly some Majestic shipping therewink.

@Sijo Hope it works out later.

@Talis Take your time! School always comes first!

I hate this, I really do, I have cried over this decision, but I'm afraid that at this point I just have to come out and say that I don't think I can post in this game anymore. It isn't the game or the characters, the will is still there, the game is fun and I still want to be involved, but the fact of the matter is that I don't have the mental wherewithal anymore to keep playing in deeply involved RP games. I'm okay, relatively, I've got some good support systems in place, but I have developed some issues that have had an effect on my creative energies. I always used to say that it was more like I was hearing the characters in my head than writing on my own and unfortunately, I've lost my access to that, and regaining it would require me to give up on some function in other areas that I need a lot more. I have a family that I need to do what I can to help care for and I need to be able to take care of that more than I need to be able to keep playing here, and I'm sorry for that. This has been a fun game for me, the Tropes forums in general have helped me immensely in being able to have fun and make friends, and I loved almost every minute of it, but I guess I just kind of have to accept that that's not going to be the case anymore, unless something gets changed in my brain chemistry or the medicine for it that lets things come back together for me.

I am so, so, SO sorry, you have no idea, I'm crying while I type this, because I hate more than anything to let anyone down, and there were so many plans for Tony, Bucky and Steve in the future, but you know what, if you guys want to take them forward, do with them what you will, you have my absolute blessing. I just hate that I have to let you all down by not being able to keep up with this and taking so long to just finally get around to admitting it so you could all move on. I just sort of stayed in denial over it, I guess, but time has come to man up and finally burn the bridge, so to speak.

I'm sorry again and thank you all for so much fun over the last nearly two years now. I don't regret any of it.

Wow I am really sorry

I don't know what to say Mysty I honestly don't want you to gosad. Sadly we had had little interactions in game, But you have always seemed like a good person to me. Someone that wasn't afraid to express herself or help others. I have always admired the love and care you gave to your characters.

I have learned a lot from you and by chance I even read about the time you stood for another a troper when he was feeling lonely, that's something I found inspiring.

And as much as I would like to convince you otherwise as I think I speak for everyone that you will be always welcome here. But I understand that you want to give priority to your personal life and your family. I completely understand as there is nothing more important than that, and you are not letting anyone down by making that choice. You will be missed, that's for sure.

I respect and fully support your choice and I wish you the very best in your future.

Very sorry to see you go, Mysty. From the sounds of it, you have some issues that go deeper than mere writers block. If you have to sacrifice your creative juices in order to care for family and yourself, then I see that as a fair trade. Real life trumps internet forum R Ps.

You are one of the best R Pers I've known on this forum. Do not think of this as abandoning us. Think of this as a well deserved retirement. Stay safe, and good luck. *hugs*

@Misty: (Even though she might not see this) That message is one of those things you read or people tell you and out of instinct you don't fully believe it, like "X celebrity died" or "your dog got ran over by a car" you don't want to believe it. I'll join the choir and say that I'd love her to stay, she was one of our best players, but its understandable that wanted to leave, nay, needed to. Life comes before a forum game in all cases. It was an honor to weave a story along with her.

May she have a good life.

God, Mysty, I don't even have to tell you that you'll be missed. I can't think what more to say that everyone else hasn't. But you're doing what's right by you and your loved ones, so don't keep thinking that you've let anybody down. One of the reasons I've stuck to this game for so long was just to see what Iron Man would do or say next. Your writing was amazing, Mysty. I regret playing all of these characters that had nothing in common with Stark now.

So I suppose Misty's characters will be played by the G Ms of each game, right? Seems like the only way to do it right. Unless she specifically asks for someone.

Also, I surely hope we're only going through a 'holiday end' slump right now.

I agree in that we should do what Mysty wants about her characters, just like bean did. Even more I hope she does eventually return to play them. If she wants to return one day I do agree a GM should play them until she wants to be back.

But I so have to say that I kinda feel that those characters should be Playable characters and not NPC's. Mainly because I feel and suspect that our Gm's are kinda overworked right now. I recall Liz hesitating to use She-hulk because of the work load, for instance.

In fact I share Talis sentiment with characters like Ghost rider. Some characters are ought to be played and not just used by a GM and both Cap and Tony should be playable as they are very iconic.

Personally I don't feel able to handle more characters right now nor I would like to play them . But I think an existing playe like Strat could handle them or maybe we could let new players Use them. In fact some players have expressed interest in them and I think there is nothing wrong with passing the torch and let new players have some fun.

About the slow posting rate I hate to do this as I love Liz as a GM :) and as a person and I will be the first to admit that I am not the best player around as Liz is leagues above me regarding writing. But I respectfully would like to share some constructive criticism, from a bad writer…

I feel that in the case of NY some plots have been a bit slow regarding pacing. Which was the opposite of Jump City[lol]. By slowly I don't mean posting rate but rather the feeling of agency or the feeling that " the plot is advancing/ we are making progress".

I personally love the passing as I can play at my own rhythm. But I can see why others might no feel the same.Take for instance the plot of the past. I think that only 2 players , at most, have been the most active and sadly I think we have missed along the way Storm, Gambit, Tony and Cap's players ( reducing by at least a half the activity) .

I think that if the players take longer than a week to post it might be a sign the plot is going very slowly, as it has been the case. I do think that Liz writing was/is excellent. But I feel that the players might be a bit aimless on what to do besides the vague idea of stopping Raven. On the other hand the spear itself while an awesome concept it's kinda hard to play in the long run, considering many characters can't do anything about it. In fact I noticed that when the plot began everyone had a lot of excitement but now most of it seems to be gone by almost everyonesad.

In the case of the plots of the present I am having a blast. But I does feel a bit slowly in progress for each subplot going. The fact that the murder subplot and Godfrey's are the most active, I think are a sign that the main stories are going a bit slowly.

I am not complaining as I do understand Liz might have a lot of work to do in real life, and he gives us quality writing for free! But I just wanted to share my two cents. I don't want to be a bother as I love these games a lot :). I only write this because I would hate to see the JA games die.

I do apologise to everyone here. I have been letting things get on top of me lately, and will try and correct it, when I have the time.

As for Mysty's characters, Tony is such an integral character by this point that it wouldn't make sense to leave him out. So, if it's all right by everyone, I'll be taking the reigns for him in NY.

Has anyone in the sign-up threads expressed interest in playing Captain America? He's the only one of Mysty's character she had not actually played yet.

Yeah, we had a player that has a santa claus avatar, who briefly played Oliver . He was told that cap was reserved before chosing Oliver.

I doubt he is still interested ,though.

Good News, Everyone!! I'm Back!!! My sister agreed to buy me a new computer if I pay her back later, so I don't have to wait anymore! Yay! grin Did you miss me?

So, what happened while I was gone? Oh, Mysty's quitting? Sorry to hear that. But I suspected it was coming to be honest. Myst, I always admired and enjoyed your writing, and I wish you the best of luck with your life. Check in on us sometime, OK? smile

I have quite a few things to do right now (catching up on the threads, reinstalling some stuff in my new PC, etc.) But I'll be posting again soon! wink

I've been thinking on how to jump start things in the various games, and I came up with the following ideas:

  • In the World War 2 adventure, the heroes need to stop talking and get going after the Nazis, Raven and the Spear of Destiny. That was why I had Blue Diamond fill in Captain America on what he knows. So let's get to it- I can't wait to get Diamond into a fight with Master Man! wink

  • In Hub City, we need to see what happened when Anarchy followed Zabo. (Though I think we have a good idea who he is by now.) Also, we need to see Waller's reaction to Anarchy's supposed "death" especially since she could not see or track him. And finally, more Crime War action!

  • Jump City is however doing fine in my opinion, since they already had a LOT of action and we are currently taking a break for humor and character building. I'm already dreading what Ambush Bug's possession will mean, though.

These are just opinions. The rest is up to us as a group.

Good idea Sijo I can't wait to seem them fighting either smile.

Regarding cap, my suggestion would be to have him as an NPC during the plot of the past. But I think it would be a good idea to have him as a PC when the plot is over and give someone the chance to use him.

The least "important/popular" characters are reserved as NPC the better, that way more players can join our game and have fun with us, imo.

Hooookay. Not busy at the moment, so it's brass tacks time.

I'll have a post ready in a minute or two. My first concern is with Megan. Strato, was your intent to have her hospitalised for the remainder of the mission?
