Just Two Faces And A Caption. I'd say pull it.
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!Nothing there that even remotely says "witch"...pull it.

If that is supposed to be a witch ...
Pull it.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanPull it. It's also on I Dream Of Jeannie and it's not even an example.

Just off the top of my head, how about we use Marisa Kirisame? She's blonde and heavily involved with the whole "witch" look.
Even just the image we have for the Touhou character sheet would probably work. There are other options, though.
[1]◊
I have a message from another time...Looks pretty good; not having played Touhou, I'm not sure if she fully fits the trope.
Either of those is fine with me.
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going. The one in the post is better, a broom being a common witch attribute.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanHer usual Boss Subtitle is "Ordinary witch", if that helps. She rides a broom, brews potions with magic mushrooms, etc. etc.
She was orange-haired in her first appearance, but has been blond for a long time since.
edit: So, if you like the one in the post itself, I have a question: It is okay to recycle a picture used in a Character Page for another page's image, right? If not, I can hunt down another picture of her. Wouldn't be hard.

I have a message from another time...Duplicate trope-work is okay, though not preferable. I'd say that duplicate trope-character page is fine because there are also multiple images on the character page.
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going. That one is cute, but here is a picture of Vanilla◊ just for fun
Does it work now?

Hosted on whatevernet isn't showing up.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanFor the record, I Dream Of Jeannie is an example becaues this trope is not just about witches but "magical women in general."
From the description:
- In recent years, it has also become increasingly common for witches (or magical women in general) to be blonde in works, regardless if they are good or evil.

True. On the other hand, the "in recent years" makes me think it still doesn't really fit. Anyway, the new proposals are clearly better, so this point is moot anyway.
Also, she doesn't look magical in the image.
Marisa is a good example. Most pictures of her would probably work, as she usually does look like a classical witch. Well, one without warts and a crooked nose.
The Internet misuses, abuses, and overuses everything.Well, the Cute Witch trope is rather well known, so I don't think warts are a problem.
I have a message from another time...The Touhou character's a good suggestion...is it possible to get more of the broom in the shot, or a pic where the broom is more evident?
edited 9th Jul '12 11:51:40 AM by Willbyr
Marisa's official art isn't the best for the trope, unless there's some good manga scan. She's got her profiles way down on her page on the wiki, but those don't show off her broom that well.
Or, I could hit up Danbooru and check if there's any good fanart... This is just a quick check on a few pages. [1], [2], [3], [4], [5], [6], [7]note , or [8].
I thought that was for trope pages, not forums.
Girls are editing... Ding!

The Internet misuses, abuses, and overuses everything.Feather, you probably don't know this, but we're not allowed to link to Danbooru pages, specifically because of those ads. Can you just link to the image sources themselves instead?
Having said that, 3,4,8, or a crop of 1 would be good.

I have a message from another time...I'm the creator of the page and I'm going to explain my actions:
- As someone pointed out, the trope is concerning magical women in general, not just witches. Blondes Are Witches just sounded catchier than Blondes Are Women And Occasionally Men With Supernatural Powers Of Various Sorts. Also, it is what we would call an Artifact Title, which Tv Tropes has a page on.
- The image is from I Dream Of Jeannie, about a blonde genie, which qualifies as a blonde woman with magical powers. The show is fairly well known, and possibly more well-known than Tohou. Also, Jeannie (the blonde genie) was made a witch in some foreign versions, so the trope applies literally as well.
- The caption is important because it refrences Bewitched, which also concerns a blonde witch named Samantha. Samantha and Jeannie are the Trope Codifiers for this trope.
- 1960's is somewhat recent considering witches have been around since at least the Bible.
I'm sad no one commented on my vanille pic :( Those shows may be well known, but you have to show the characters using their powers or else it's JAFAAC

Not keen on any of those, though they do show the trope.
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.
The image for Blondes Are Witches is pretty bad. For starters the picture is unsourced (and I'm not familiar with the show). Second the woman on the right doesn't look like a witch but more like a belly dancer IMHO. And third the picture is grainy.
Any suggestions?
I can't think of anything good for a signature.
