Also, this video makes me feel that we may be done on characters after the next 3, or they'd keep releasing them in odd numbers. Of course, I don't know why I might expect menu symmetry to tell me anything, considering it wasn't meaninful in Melee, or Jill and Shuma in mvc3, or Sage Kabuto.

I guess it all depends on whether Cyber Connect 2 will be able to take all the whining for Diego any bit longer.

And if they say "fuck" it and put in both Diegos.

Even if Part 3 DIO has enough alternate costumes already.

I prefer to think this isn't an oversight.

Also what they should have done is make it so Valentine's walking animation doesn't present footstep noise kanji since apparently he doesn't make noise when he steps.

One of the devs have said that they might patch that later.

Edit: I just realised Diego could have 2 transformations as his GHA: if he his on the ground he morphs into dino form but if he is on his horse a flag falls from above(if it's against Valentine he just steals the flag) and out pops AU!Diego.

Dino transformation is instant/cutscene while the flag takes 2-3 seconds to connect with Diego. The dino form lasts untill his meters are gone while the flag is permanent.

But they'd have to make AU!Diego at least play different from Part 3 DIO to stop him being boring.

Why do you think I joke about AU!Diego just being an alt costume for Part 3 DIO otherwise?

AU!Diego would have at least four different moves from Dio with his gun, barbed wire, gasoline can and matchsticks, and his fangirl shield. I think they could probably finagle something for a complete AU!Diego movelist.

Yeah. They can't possibly get lazy and just have him be Part 3 DIO with different looks and slightly different voices.

Diego is voiced by Dio's VA in this game as a NPC,so he wouldn't sound that different as a playable character

He'd probably have to say slightly different things though.

Dio's VA is so great, he actually does fit Diego pretty well, even if the two are pretty different.

They aren't THAT different. Diego is still very much Dio just with a different background.

Diego does stay within the boundaries of "somewhat reasonably evil" though (He's balancing on a thin line, but otherwise, he's staying within them), while Dio breaks the "cartoonishly evil barrier", even before the ripple came in.

I was talking about movelists though. I know they're the same person but if they have the exact same moveset then its gonna be boring and kinda pointless since most people would stick with the more familiar Dio.

There are many villains who are cheerfully evil. Dio goes one step further and actively rejects human morality.

That's a non-issue. The devs can do a lot with Diego's Scary Monsters, and they'd have to actively try to make him play like a Dio clone.

Few years later, and the dude is contemplating on what it means to reach "heaven". It's...pretty jarring, really. Fits his character somewhat, but this is the same villain that broke down, and went on a spiel on how he has everything.

The New patch is amazing.

Yeah, being stuck at the bottom of the ocean for 94 years while being unable to die from drowning can change one quite a bit.
