So we're in an unusual situation where the set is all out, the pre-release is in hours (or already happening) for some people, and we're at the top of a page, and everyone is talking on the Unreleased Sets page, making it difficult to get to the next page on this one.
Are we still going to wait till this page rolls over till we can start talking about stuff that's out in the open? Or will it just transition over here anywhere if the page doesn't roll over by the time the actual release happens or something?
Is the rule about pages rolling over, though? It used to be five posts.
You are dazzled by my array of very legal documents. It is just 5 posts? I was under the impression it was the next page.
Has there ever been an official ruling on such?
<checks way back> In the first post, it was actually the release date, not the next page or 5 posts.
Meaning another week or so.
You are dazzled by my array of very legal documents. To quote the first post:
So, if I'm reading that right, then the day the full Card Image Gallery goes up is the day we can start talking about new cards. In this case, that would be last Friday.

The Living Guildpact rules that coffee is an acceptable substitution for rest as specified in subsection … whatever. To be honest I've never understood the purpose of the split threads. Does anyone not check spoilers? Magic Cards aren't like a movie or tv show.
Given that it was a mod who started these threads, I would assume the moderators disagree.
You are dazzled by my array of very legal documents. For the people that play constructed around here, banlists were updated. For modern/standard there were no changes. Dig Through Time banned in Legacy, Black Vise unbanned. In Vintage, Chalice of the Void and Dig were restricted, Thirst for Knowledge unrestricted.
Summary: Blue players sad, everyone else happy.
What did blue players ever do to yhahahahahaha
sorry, couldn't quite keep a straight face for that one
You are dazzled by my array of very legal documents.Maybe this has been covered already, but following the latest Uncharted Realms I continue to feel like Kiora is more Blue Red rather than Blue Green from a character perspective.
Can anyone help me figure out what it is about her as an individual that makes her Green rather than Red? Am I missing something or looking at Red vs Green wrong?
You're looking at it wrong, her behavior is still blue-green. It's similar to red in a sense of "streak of recklessness", but it's not innate like in red. It's born from the "at all costs" of blue combined with the "bigger is better" of green.
I'm reading this because it's interesting. I think. Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot, over. Also, notice that there's an emphasis on community; while her sister is still important to her, the story spends just as many words on what she and the tricksters do for merfolk communities. Kiora's perspective is broader than we might expect of a red character.
She likes big fuckoff monsters.
To be fair, at some stage, all five characters have had some sort of positive feeling towards huge fuckoff monsters: you've got Naya, the Temur Frontier, and even black does it occasionally (although apart from Triumph of Cruelty and some of the toughness stuff in Khans block that's usually predicated on turning those creatures into goo and a discard, life drain or -X/-X effect).
You are dazzled by my array of very legal documents.White's also occasionally got angels that fill the role.
[Glances over at Iona and Avacyn]
That, and the occasional titan and giant.

I'll give you Iona, but Avacyn is Amazonian at best. She's just as strong as a huge monster.
And none of this makes them any less Green's "thing". All the colours dabble a bit.
Green gets the huge land monsters, true, but the huge sea monsters are Blue's domain.
They just aren't as common, easy to play, and as efficiently costed.
She likes naturally-occurring big fuckoff monsters.
Everyone's got some way to generate creatures with large power and toughness values but wildlife the size of mountains is specifically Green's way of doing it. Kiora doesn't just want a high P/T, her M.O. is specifically sea serpents the size of trains, octopi the size of school buildings, etc. She likes huge, naturally-occurring wildlife from the depths of the ocean.
If she hits a brick wall with a kraken and it fails to work, her solution is, "I need a larger kraken." That's green.

My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.She'd probably have a hoot if she figured out a way to summon Godzilla.
Or worst, some kind of cthulu beast.
She's basically Aquaman.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.Fun Aquaman. More in line with the OUTRAGEOUS B&TB version.
I don't know if anyone here is an Irregular Webcomic or Darths and Droids fan, but today's update of each came with a link for a new draft format: Goldfish Draft.
Basically, everyone competes to do the most damage to an immortal goldfish opponent in a set number of turns, infinite combos disallowed.
You are dazzled by my array of very legal documents.I've just picked myself up a Fat Pack and a Booster Box of Battle for Zendikar. As I read through the Player's Guide and got to the "Pivotal Moment cards" pages, describing those moments in spoilerrific detail . I would much rather have learned those details from Uncharted Realms.
But anyway, I'm going to be spending my weekend sorting my collection, moving the cards that are rotating out from my Standard commons and uncommons boxes to my Modern ones and updating my existing decks for their new formats. My WBG Constellation deck is now Modern, and three of my remaining four Standard decks (WU Flying, RUG Dragons, and GW Counters) also have things rotating out that need replacing. My GU Morph deck doesn't, because I built it close enough to the rotation date that putting Theros block and M15 cards in it would've been a waste of time.
And, once I've done all that, I'll be building myself a shiny new processor deck! Anyway, I've got a lot of packs to open and I can't wait to get cracking.

That's right. Theros block, as well as M15, will rotate out of Standard when the new set comes in.
