I still love the name of Path to Exile.
FUN FACT: Path to Exile was first released in Conflux, part of the Alara block, when the effect was still called "remove from game". It was only renamed Exile in the Core Set that immediately followed Alara, which instituted a handful of rules changes.
As such, the name Path to Exile can be seen as foreshadowing the upcoming rules change; this card paved our Path to the Exile mechanic.

My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.I think a lot of mechanics are named after cards that did them before they had a name.
That's true. I'm still amazed Firebreathing hasn't been keyworded yet.
I also still don't understand why they unkeyworded unblockable. Why unkeyword anything?

My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.Firebreathing and unblockable both exist in too many variations to be keywords.
I mean, with firebreathing you have the straightforward "R: +1/+0". You also have the "activate X times per turn (either a hard cap or dying if you exceed)" variants like Dragon Whelp, the "2R: +2/+0", the "1R: firebreathing plus pinging you in the head" from Firedrinker Satyr, the artifact-based variant from that one dragon in Scars block, probably a dozen others I haven't seen or have forgotten.
And unblockable has all the "can't be blocked except" variants. Got it.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.Not all. Remember that the new keyword Menace started as the "can't be blocked except by two or more creatures".
I'm reading this because it's interesting. I think. Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot, over.I think that there will be a call to destroy the Eldrazi at least in part because they tried it Ugin's way and it got them to where they are now.
To be fair, locking up the Eldrazi for several thousand years is pretty dang impressive, all things considered.
Side thought - if I'm not mistaken, Dominaria is the center of the Multiverse or something like that, where is being destroyed is really, really bad (which is part of why it needed to be fixed in the Time Spiral thing). Is it out of place, then, to wonder if the Eldrazi eating Dominaria would thus result in the multiverse being destroyed?
While it's entirely possible that Path to Exile was related to the renaming, there's also this.
That is definitely not a stretch in any way. I would be surprised if that was not the case. Though, we again don't know much about the eldrazi, and whether they would even want to eat Dominaria. Maybe they're related to the cosmic things involved with how Dominaria works, or they understand that all worlds being destroyed would mean no more tasty mana.
Maybe the eldrazi are a natural part of the multiverse, and are responsible for creating new worlds from the mana of other worlds when their time is over.

''The eternal question of reality, it still stands today.''Every plane is Eldrazi crap, then?
More like the planes are like plants that grow from the rich fertiliser of eldrazi dung.
And then the eldrazi come to harvest them.
Clearly the way to truly beat the Eldrazi is to make them become farmers.
No, you fool! That will make their controller much harder to kill!
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.Except for Emrakul. I guess he's just not cut out for the farm life, even though that 15 power means he'd be a fantastic farmer.
Emrakul prefers to chill out in the Oblivion Ring.
Eldrazi are the Multiverse's Reapers
I'm reading this because it's interesting. I think. Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot, over.Just had to double-post...
Topic in the magicTCG sub-reddit was "Garruk must kill P Ws!", someone said "Kill Jace", another replied, "Jace turns to zombie thanks to Lili, first zombie PW"...somebody asks "Does Liliana have a thing for Jace?" I reply:
He can put the goodies into her graveyard... ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
I'm reading this because it's interesting. I think. Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot, over.If Garruk knew the Eldrazi existed, would he consider them more worthy prey to hunt than Planeswalkers?
That, and they were a couple in canon before.

Yeah, and it wouldn't solve the eldrazi problem. You exile Ulamog and it's just going to look around for a second, spot a nice tasty world and start nomming on that one instead.
