Weird I read Roth was the one who did that. But that actually sounds more plausible. TBH I think the movie could've used some expanding on characters and more developing. Parts of it felt kind of rushed, especially at the beginning which was kind of a mess pacing wise. It sort of got a little better as it went on.
So yeah, it was a cool movie. RZA should not have been the main character though, his acting was awful. In fact, the titular character was probably one of the least interesting characters in the movie. X-Blade's actor whose name escapes me, while totally Bad Ass, wasn't that great either...best were Russle Crow and Silver Lion. Lucy Liu was pretty solid too, her character was one of my favorites.
The movie had some really awesome moments, and the way each faction's theme was incorporated was pretty cool. For example, the Lions specializing in clawed weapons and being the rulers of Jungle City(king of the jungle) and the way the Gemini utilized duality. The latter's fight was easily one of the coolest things I've seen in a film for a long time. Brass Body was pretty badass too.
Writing was nothing special, a few really cheesy moments but some pretty funny(if dirty) stuff as well. Not what I'd call notably bad for a kung-fu/western action film though.
I kind of want a sequel, since you don't really see enough of Iron fist himself and the ending leaves you kind of wanting more. Oh but a better actor for him lol. Still, while RZA is bad at that he DEFINITELY has some potential as a director and is mad creative. Ending credits theme is an Ear Worm as well.

My friends and I decided that if there is a sequel it just needs to be an hour and a half of RZA walking around Jungle City enforcing the "no weapons" policy he has now.
IE He punches people in the face....for an hour and a half.
You will never love a women as much as George Lucas hates his fans.Thinking back the Blacksmith wasn't that bad a character, he's actually decent it's just that fighting style wise he could've done more and was a little Overshadowed by Awesome from the others. RZA's bad acting kind of hampered things with him as well.
By jeez, the gemini couple...holy crap I'm still geeking over that. My mouth was wide open on that part. I also loved the clik clik scene.
"Holy crap did someone just imply Kill Bill was bad? Jeez man, people just don't know how to have FUN with movies anymore. "
Fun and Kill Bill don't fit in the same paragraph or even in the same chapter or book. One of the most boring movies I've ever seen.
Tarintino is choking on somebody's feet right now.
Kill Bill was all kinds of fun for me, but such things are subjective, so whatever.

Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireRather subjective, yeah. I liked it, for one.
Shall we talk about this movie?
The sad, REAL American dichotomyI wish they hadn't named it this. I keep seeing people talking about it and thinking it's a new entry to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3....
Really?
When you see it, it clearly has nothing to do with Marvel...
Seriously, if Iron Fist got a movie it would be called either "Heroes for Hire" or "The Immortal Iron Fist". It's impossible not to have any kind of comic book knowledge to make such "confusion", so I'd have to ask just where you're train of logic is going to think "The Man with the Iron Fists" would ever approach the drawing board.
....and this is starting to sound 10x angrier than I really am. Whoops.
My point in a nutshell, yes.

Basically, what we seem to be saying is that for someone to be familiar with the character "Iron Fist", they'd probably be knowledgeable enough about the character to realize that the title of this movie has nothing to do with him.
The sad, REAL American dichotomy
Don't blame Roth, blame the so called meddling executives who I don't think made that bad a call. Roth persuaded RZA to come back to the table, otherwise we might not have had any movie.
