Now if only they would release the damn cast list already...
Maybe we'll hear some of his voice in the trailer and be able to figure out who it is that way.
Looking for some stories?Heh, it's probably just me, but I'm getting quite a bit of an L vibe from Hiro's design in the still, mostly from the messy hair and wide, staring eyes.

I'll get over the fact that Hiro is the most obvious name to give to an Asian main character. -_-
But... he's a HERO... Get it...?◊
To be fair, you can't blame that one on Disney.
Looking for some stories?Yeah I can't blame Disney. :)
..... MARVEL IS TO BLAME!!! GRRRRR
Ok then, tell us what would be a better name for this film's Asian protagonist?
Something not as expected. I don't speak Japanese but it should mean something that isn't connotative with "hero".
Shinji? Takeshi? Hayato? Daisuke? Takumi?
I dunno, they all sound pretty heroic to me.
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatDress up the fucking robot Shinji.
Also, for accuracy's sake, the pronunciation of "Hiro", "Hiroto" and "Hiroshima" in Japanese isn't exactly how it would be pronounced as the North American word. In the states we pronounce it as "hɪəroʊ" (HEAR-Oh) while the actual japanese pronunciation sounds more like "hiroʊ" (HE-roh). Note
No idea if Disney will retain this within their americanized version though.

You are displaying abnormally high compulsions to over-analyze works of fiction and media. Diagnosis: TV Tropes Addiction.I think this is my favorite Tumblr post about him. Jack Frost may be up in the air, but this time it'll definitely qualify as pedophilia!

Looking for some stories?Let the Pedobear reaction images flow. Most of 'em will age him up anyways.

i. hear. a. sound.I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm having this thing where I keep wanting to call "Baymax" by the name of "Betamax" instead of his real name.

@Mort: Ah, the sorrows of a movie not having a cute character who's of age.

You guys with your animated fetishes. You make me sick. I mean, everyone knows the only ''true'' way to lust after fictional characters, is to go after the cosplayers.
I do that too!

You mean his name's NOT Betamax?!

@Jawa: Yeah, we can say Elsa is hot and only be slightly skeeved out by our perversions!
But still though, a cute Asian nerd with a kind-of awkward disposition and gorgeous hair? Tailor made for the Tumblr audience.

I think once we see more of him, they'll just form an older-sisterly connection instead of a crush.
Searched "Hiro" on tumblr. Good figgity God there's already fanart!!!
You were expecting different?

Being of japanese heritage myself, I'm actually pretty glad Disney made him distinct enough to look ethnic but not too much that it becomes a stereotype. I don't think he looks like JF (apart from maybe the hair and the wide eyes) as everything else makes him seem more like a stylized FF character.
I sincerely hope he's voiced by a voice actor of Japanese heritage, like Ming-Na Wen of Mulan.
