Warriors of the Zodiac

Above the world, amongst the heavens, there is a collection of Heroes.

Heroes that watch over the planet below.

Heroes that strike when needed.

They are the Warriors of the Zodiac, once simple humans, bestowed upon them the blessings of the gods, and as such, ascended to the heavens above with the power to be it's savior.

And once the newest threat comes to the light...

Our only hope comes from these 12.

SETTING The locations will be one of two areas: One being the planet Earth itself. (General locations will vary, depending on where the plot will take us, rnaging from Japan, to America, to China, etc. etc.). The other location will be set in the ethereal world the warriors live in, a kingdom of some kind. Not that big, but still big enough.

The setting is generally in Modern times, but there may be some time travel to future/past locations/events. So locations and time periods will vary as well.

Mysticism is very heavy in this RP, So magic is gonna be common place. (Amongst the warriors, and only a few humans)

So yeah, basically, we're gonna be R Ping as warriors, bestowed upon them the powers of the Chinese Zodiac, the Rat, the Ox, The Rabbit, the Dragon, The Tiger, the Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig. Each player will have a specific ability, a weapon, and possibly even more. Just remember to make sure it's awesome and unique.

The template will look like this:

• Name: Your characters name, or "Title".
• Age: Self explanatory. They could be young or old, maybe even a few hundred years old.
• Appearance: Again, self explanatory.
• Personality: Again.
• "Sign": Which of the 12 are they?
• Powers: What unique powers does your player have?
• Weapon: What weapon do they carry with them into battle?
• History: What was the character like before being chosen as a warrior? Were there any events leading up to their choosing? Did they go through a change of heart before turning?
• Additional Information: Basic stuff now.

CLAIMED SIGNS

• Name: Alexander Anas.
• Age: Currently unknown, even by his own companions. He likes to keep his age a secret. Though it is estimated between 20 and a little over 600.
• Appearance: Alexander's appearance tends to change every once in a while, but never really blatantly so. His most common appearance is a man in his mid twenties with intense grey eyes, shaggy brown hair and a pair of thin glasses in front of his eyes. His skin is pale, his form a little thin and not very muscular.
• Personality: Despite his age, there is an air of wisdom around him that he likes to show. He's proud and generous, loyal to his team (even to Rat and Snake, despite their history and personalities). However, at times, he is bossy, demanding even at the worst of times and brash, often leading to his own serious injuries in battle. Once pushed, he can grow dangerously violent.
• "Sign": Dragon
• Powers: His powers are more elementally based. He has mild control over elements, like Earth, Fire, Water and Air, the ability to form weapons with them, and mild control over them.
• Weapon: His weapons vary on what he makes from the elements. Though mostly, he focuses on the physical force of his selected elements.
• History: his history is a complete mystery from everyone who knows of him, even the people in his kingdom. He keeps silent about whatever happened in his past, just one of the many secrets alluding to him. However, one thing is known, before he died, he remembered feeling something metallic slitting his throat...
• Additional Information: He pretty much has a bottomless appetite.

...Sorry, the name just made me instantly think Saint Seiya/Knights of the Zodiac, so, um... Oh well, enjoy the Pegasus Fantasy.

And... Hmmm... A little elaboration on what these warriors are supposed to actually be would be nice, but... Can I put a tentative claim on Tiger for now? I'll see if I can work something out later.

Ha, ironically I thought of the same thing as soon as I posted it. And sure, Tiger is claimed for now.

And basically, the Warriors are/were once human, just with powers from their chosen Sign. So, humans, anyway.

Sure thing, And gimme a few minutes, and I'll add the settings in the OP.

Ok here it goes:

Name: Jack "Labrador" Valeski

Age: 30

Appearance: Jack is tall, and a bit robust in his build, a light tan on his skin. Short dark brown hair and a bushy beard on his face.

Personality: Kind and friendly, fond of animals, combine that to his body type and that gives him a “gentle giant” atmosphere. Very loyal and caring to his friends, be careful if you hurt them. He tends to meditate and read a lot that gives him a sort of sagely air around him.

"Sign": Dog

Powers: Energy projection: Jack has a fountain energy in his being, which he projects in solid form, in different shapes, its limited in the way that it's source is not infinite and the projections can't be cut off the main body, if so they would vanish

Weapon: some form of projectile weapon, like a gun or a rifle

History: Jack had a normal, yet a bit unpleasant childhood, not that he was directly abused. The unpleasant part came in on weekends where his father would take it to his workshop and used him as an assistant, this would cancel out any other plans Jack would have. This continued until Jack ran from home, age 18. Jack wasn't the rebellious or grudging type, but this treatment made him snap, and he ran. He left a note explaining everything, either because the note, his escape, or their relationship his father never came to bring him back, though they still would send each other letters and talk by phone. Before his moment of choosing he was a literature teacher, a fairly good one, that dabbled in poetry and novel writing. probably chosen because of his good nature, or chance, who knows...

• Name: Lord Reginald Winterbottom
• Age: 52
• Appearance: [1]◊
• Personality: Though he may seem polite, he hates everything , that isn´t himself. He looks down on everyone, as their behaviour is "far too childish and not worthy of even a filthy commoner". In general he´s stuck up and egozentrical.
• Sign: Snake
• Powers: The magic of shadows and nightmares.
• Weapon:His cane, which includes the blades/spikes shown in the picture
• History: As member of the british nobility, Reginald became rich through trading, though because of a simple typo he accidentally donated all of his money to charity. Though he is seriously pissed because of that, he couldn´t admit it was a mistake as he "doesn´t make mistakes". Because of this unintentional display of generosity he was chosen as the warrior of the snake.

Name: Chanticleer Wyrmstone

Age: 27

Appearance: Chanticleer is tall and lean, with a wiry frame. His skin is noticeably pale, his hair is very long and and has a deep red hue, and his eyes are an emerald green.

Personality: A young man in his late twenties, Chanticleer is brash and somewhat vain, and is also rather greedy. However, he is very kind and honest, and is very brave, thriving on risks and opportunities to show his skill.

"Sign": Rooster

Powers: Chanticleer has moderate psychokinetic powers, which let him move and manipulate inanimate and non-living objects that aren't too big or heavy. These psychokinetic powers also allow him to "read" the contents of minor things like pockets, wallets, ect, and detect rare metals and jewels in the earth, with limiting success. He also has military training.

Weapon: An FAMAS F1, though he has some skill in unarmed combat.

History: Born in France, Chanticleer joined the French Armed Forces as early as he could. His unusual looks, inflated ego and willingness to stand out from the crowd earned him no end of animosity from his fellow troops, until he served in Lebanon. There, he discovered a platinum trophy sitting at the bottom of a deep pool of mud, and retrieved it. This display of having a "sixth sense" was what got him chosen.

So... Looks like I went and made a generic shonen protagonist. Oh well, should be fun to play anyways, hopefully. Here we go~

• Name: Tanya Fogerty
• Age: 16
• Appearance: Something like this◊.
• Personality: Passionate, daring and impulsive, although she can be rather reckless and impatient at times. She shows no fear, and is quick to anger but equally quick to forgiveness. Goofy and kind of a ditz; the archetypal idiot hero. Despite being somewhat lazy when it comes to matters not concerning her training or heroics, she's surprisingly a morning person, although she also turns in pretty early, so... Has an appetite that would put all others to shame.
• Sign: Tiger
• Powers: Immense physical prowess. Tanya is strong enough to lift small cars above her head, her body is bulletproof and her top running speed clocks in at about 75mph.
• Weapon: Unarmed martial arts.
• History: A half-Chinese girl born in Scotland, Tanya spent most of her childhood training in martial arts with her grandfather, a venerable old kung fu master. As most of this training took place in remote mountain regions, she hasn't recieved much education or social contact, leading her to be somewhat of an idiot with few social graces. Even after her grandfather died of old age, she still spends most of her time training; the only thing more important to her than improving her martial arts skills is a good meal.
• Additional Information: Shonen protagonist, ho!

Question: How long would a character have been a warrior, and do they age after becoming warriors?

Just need to clarify that before I finish my character.

They're all various ages at different points, some longer than others. We age, it just doesn't really have an effect on us physically.

• Name: Onyxia, the Elemental Beast
• Age: Between 1,019 and 993
• Appearance: Onyxia and her mount.
• Personality: An ambitious warrior, Onyxia prefers to be in a position of power, and constantly works to raise her position, whatever that position may be. While she is capable of being extremely objective, she nevertheless has a hot temper, makes impulsive decisions, and those who bring forth her fury will find themselves with an opponent that knows no restraint. She is extremely stubborn, and equally loyal to her allies.
• "Sign": Ox
• Powers: Onyxia can summon fire from her body, allowing her to create fireballs, attack with burning punches and kicks, and even breath fire. She can withstand massive levels of heat, and is incapable of burning, but water causes a similar effect to what fire would do to a normal being. Her horns are strong enough to penetrate diamond.
• Weapon: Onyxia wields dual battle axes in battle, which she tends to light on fire.
• History: Onyxia was born and raised by the Khitan people, where she lived an average life, with nothing of real importance occurring, until one day, she ended up in a battle of the Goryeo-Khitan wars. Fighting with two axes, she was able to cut through hundreds of Goryeo soldiers, despite never having been trained to fight. After half a day and a the bodies of her enemies passed by, she was finally taken out by a suicide attack from an enemy swordsman, impaling her as she did the same to him. Moments before death, the power of the Ox was bestowed upon her, and she was taken to ethereal world, where her wounds were healed.
• Additional Information: Despite having been alive for an extremely long time, Onyxia cannot recall her mortal life aside from the battle that lead to her ascension, or the first few decades of her warrior-hood. She assumes this is because of long-term memory loss, but it's really just because her player doesn't trust himself to be historically accurate. Also, she has a pet Ox.
