Besides, not everyone is a drug lord.
And for every drug lord turn robot, there'll be a murdered police turned robot with a cool helmet and gun.
The problem with mechs being more dangerous is that it's extending the human shape into a weapon. Humans are not a good shape for fighting, it's just that we've got a lot of experience overcoming our handicaps. It's sort of like natural wheels, the main reason they don't exist that much in nature is that nature has a hard time building and maintaining anything beyond a simple bearing.
As a result, the shapes we can build with those designs vastly expand our design capabilities. A soap bar is always going to be a better distribution of armor than a humanoid, which is an adapted tool user from an arboreal design.

Fight smart, not fair.I don't know know what ypu just said, but TL,DR - don't go making humanoid machines and expecting the best!
...In other words, THIS - and I definitely mean that in a big way if it involves putting brains into things where they don't really need to be, or better yet, the last thing they need to be in to simply kill otherwise innocent people quite easily!

This is where I, the Vampire Mistress, proudly reside: http://liberal.nationstates.net/nation=nova_nacioIf I see a Gundam flying over my country's sky, it would be the day that I've seen everything.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.I'm not talking only about the drug lord; I'm also talking about the other prototypes, who tended to commit suicide.
"And as long as a sack of shit is not a good thing to be, chivalry will never die."Weren't they all criminals of some sort too? It's been too long since I saw the movie.
Hm, I can't really recall. I want to say they were volunteers of the "dying anyway, might as well do some science" category. Then again, that all seems like the writer projecting the "omg, I'm not (specific definition of) human anymore, life isn't worth living".
Fight smart, not fair.To me, it sounded more like "I don't have hands anymore! What the fuck am I gonna do when I'm not shooting at people?"
Even simple things like being able to play cards with your buddies or even simply shake their hands can make a lot of difference.

"And as long as a sack of shit is not a good thing to be, chivalry will never die."I recall a number of them having hands and still committing suicide. One sec, youtubing.

Fight smart, not fair.We are touching a lot on Robotics in general and cybernetics. We shoudl really make a seperate thread for it.
Small insect robots are a thing. DARPA, various contractors, and DOD guys have been working quite intensly on them. As well as cyborg bugs.

Who watches the watchmen?Or just ask a mod to change the title. It's not as if robotics are very far off topic than Japan considering making Gundam.
How's about this?
Japan, Gundam Robots and You.
... Are young schoolgirls going to control them?

I thought the stereotype was young schoolboys... like the original Shotaro.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.I'm mixing two stereotypes here. For massive damage.
Nah, we'll just have the first Draconis MechWarriors.
"Hipsters: the most dangerous gang in the US." - Pacific MackerelWell, as long as we don't have a stupid-looking, annoying animal mascot with bizarrely humanlike behaviours we should be safe.
But they seem to know where they are going, the ones who walk away from Omelas. That would be more like an Iron Man suit, but yeah.
If you're referring to the Iron Monger suit, yes.
@Hallow Hawk: The last post is over two years old. Timestamps Are Your Friends.
"I'm pregnant, and I'm losing my mind."
Let's stop generalizing from fictional evidence.
