Then you should read Sandman again, for instance the story where Dream talks to Caesar Augustus who is dressed as a beggar, or the prologue where he talks to the spirit of Earth and promises her life. No, the Endless are not deities.

Amusingly enough, AFAIK Sandman kind-of-sort-of takes place in the same universe as Superman, and therefore the same universe as New Gods, and therefore the same universe as Darkseid, who generally IS called a God. Not that this means anything, but the connection amused me.

You're splitting hairs. Yes, Sandman was kind of insistent that the Endless are not gods, but they fulfil the same story role that gods do.

I don't agree that the image meets the criteria for an instant pull, though it shouldn't be too hard to find something better.

Okay, let's say, for the sake of argument, that she is a god.

That only brings this thing from "Not an example" to "Just A Face And A Caption", because I really don't know who that is, or why she's a god or mad. In all honesty, it kind of looks like she's on drugs.

I have a message from another time...

Perhaps if someone could find a picture of God with a maniacal look on his face shooting lightning at random people, it might work.

I was thinking something from Spectre #61, but looking at the images I'm not sure if there's a good way to crop any of them.

Much better. Not only is it actually God himself in those pictures, he is also clearly insane. Cropping it will be a bitch though.
