Yeah, I like the art. But it needs more indication as to what sort of music is playing. All we got is "a song from Frozen".

Yup, late again. But my last exam for the year's on Tuesday, so I'll be on time next week.
Japanese Issue 25:
Lady Justice (Cover, Lead Colour, New Series)
1. One Piece
2. Black Clover
Straighten Up! Welcome to Shika High’s Competitive Dance Club (Center Colour, Chapter 2)
3. Assassination Classroom
4. Haikyuu!!
My Hero Academia (Center Colour)
Naruto: The Seventh Hokage and the Scarlet Spring
5. Gin Tama
6. Toriko
7. PSI Kusuo Saiki
Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma (Center Colour)
8. Hinomaru Zumō
9. Kagamigami
10. Nisekoi: False Love
11. World Trigger
12. Kochikame
13. Ultra Battle Satellite
14. Bleach
Isobe Isobee Monogatari
World Trigger will apparently be taking more frequent breaks from now on due to the mangaka’s health. Also, because of this, the editors will be placing it towards the end of the magazine for some reason.
We have confirmation that nothing ended this issue, so it appears they're sacrificing the one-shot slot unless something ends next week. Okay then.
I think we can say with certainty at this point that Black Clover is getting decent ranks all-around (cumulatively 6th overall if you put all of the ranks for the year for all series thus far together). Kagamigami has been slipping, but it still looks safe at the moment.
…Starting next week, I'll be shortening Straighten Up! Welcome to Shika High's Competitive Dance Club to just "Straighten Up!" because that name is just too goddamn long. It'd be like if I were to call Kochikame by its full title of "This Is the Police Station in Front of Kameari Park in Katsushika Ward".
Japanese Issue 26 Info:
Cover, Lead Colour: Devily Man (New Series)
Center Colour: Nisekoi: False Love, Haikyuu!!, Lady Justice
Extra Pages: Straighten Up! Welcome to Shika High's Competitive Dance Club
English Issue 24:
Straighten Up! Welcome to Shika High's Competitive Dance Club (Cover, Lead Colour, New Series, Jump Start)
Naruto: The Seventh Hokage and the Scarlet Spring
One Piece
Nisekoi: False Love
Black Clover (Center Colour)
Toriko
Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma
Bleach
My Hero Academia
Gakkyu Hotei: School Judgment
Yu-Gi-Oh! (Jump Back)
Looks like Viz is going to run the rest of School Judgment, despite the magazine change.

Huh. :/ Too bad for World Trigger, I genuinely think it's one of the more interesting shonen out there, but this will really be risky for it...
"Lady Justice" which I saw by other legal means reminds me a bit of Empowered but with less bondage so far.

A new competition for rookie mangaka has been announced. It is known as the Jump+ Serialization Grand Prix.
Apparently Ultra Battle Satellite still hasn't ended, so they are, indeed, keeping it for another round. It and the Naruto spin-off are guaranteed cuts, so everything from the new batch should be safe unless three new series are starting.
Otherwise, very typical ToC all-around.
Japanese Issue 27 Info:
Cover, Lead Colour: World Trigger (Second Anniversary)
Center Colour: Devily Man
Extra Pages: Lady Justice
English Issue 25:
My Hero Academia (Cover, Center Colour)

Toriko
Nisekoi: False Love

Yu-Gi-Oh! (Jump Back)
Finally, My Hero Academia gets a cover in the English magazine. As you may recall, it didn't get a cover when it joined because a new series took precedence.
A major announcement is supposedly coming at Anime Expo.
This week’s Nihongo Lesson is on the newest Toriko chapter: "nitoro" and "kosupure".

I suppose Gakkyu Hotei couldn't be expected to last after graduation anyway. It makes sense to finish it. I'll always consider it short but good.
I hope Black Clover takes more risks now that it has a strong following. It's been taking the beaten path long enough that I think it's about time they spice things up, maybe introduce those demons we heard about in the first chapter.
Please get well soon, Ashihara-sensei! You're making the only good sci-fi in the English version! D: (Seriously, why has there been such a lack of good sci-fi?)
Finally posted DB Scarlet Mirror: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=13689952930A49781400&page=97#2423Maybe he's getting ill from watching the animation quality of his own anime. (I kid, though I do hear it's one of Toei's worst efforts to date.)
I'm kind of confused as to how Black Clover can do so consistently well. Then again, the readership of this magazine is supposed to be young boys, and what is trite and cliché to older people might still be fresh and exciting for them.
I thought that Lady Justice would be skipped because of possible trademark infringement with Neil Gaiman's character with the same name, or because of fear of angry parents due to such a fanservice-y character being named after a noble pillar of western culture. So it's just the level of fanservice? What makes it different from E-Robot, which DID get the greenlight at Viz?

Lady Justice looks pretty fun.
The city it's in is called Gousamu.

Secret SignatureTrademark infringement simply results in the title of the work being changed. See: Detective Conan (also localized by Viz).
So, Devilyman; could be fun. like a sillier version of Death Note
Yeah, that was more amusing than I expected.
Incidentally, it seems they chose to run Straighten Up!. Chapter 3 ended with "To Be Continued..." instead of the usual Jump Start ending message.

The fanservice in Lady Justice is actually fairly minor. The main issue with it that I see is that it's kind of bland
Huh. It ran as a one-shot before, which is where I heard it was fanservice-laden, so they must have toned it down.
I have no clue why Viz skipped it, then.
Wait, is the joke in Lady Justice that she's invulnerable but her clothes aren't?
Her Super Suit is supposedly bulletproof or something.
Also Super Skimpy-ish.
Secret SignatureShe doesn't have her costume in the first chapter, so in-universe everyone got to see full frontal. Presumably she gets the sturdier outfit in the second or third chapters.
So it's not something that will keep happening? Thank god.
"Typical" nothing: Black Clover, after spending a good couple weeks in the Top 5, has dropped back to 6. Kinda surprised at that. Maybe it's a fluke, or maybe the readership has gotten burned out from it. Hard to tell at this point.
Kagamigami has me nervous with how low it is, but it seems to be fine so far. UBS meanwhile is clearly dead in the water, and seems to be the buffer for now. Hopefully Kagamigami doesn't get dragged to the bottom when UBS crashes.
Managed to find Lady Justice through TOTALLY LEGITIMATE MEANS, and I'm actually curious as to how this will play out. It feels like an American superhero comic, which is generic in itself but feels interesting coming from a manga. Biggest issue I can see so far is that the fanservice feels a tad forced, and it was nowhere near as bad as I was expecting from the initial promo. I'm willing to give it a couple chapters to see if it can build something decent. Also HOLY FUCK STAN LEE
Second chapter of Lady Justice did bring the fanservice. Felt fairly tame to me, but I'm not sure how it'd come off to the target audience. To it's credit, it didn't have the leering feel a lot of fanservice series do
Issue 27:
World Trigger (Cover, Lead Colour)
1. Black Clover
2. One Piece
Devilyman (Center Colour, Chapter 2)
3. Assassination Classroom
4. Hinomaru Zumō
Straighten Up! (Chapter 4)
5. Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma
6. Haikyuu!!
My Hero Academia (Center Colour)
7. Naruto: The Seventh Hokage and the Scarlet Spring

9. PSI Kusuo Saiki

Toriko (Absent 7 Issues Ago)
12. Kagamigami
13. Kochikame
14. Ultra Battle Satellite
15. Bleach
Isobe Isobee Monogatari
School Judgment actually only needed one chapter to conclude. It's 32 pages long. Can't comment on the quality of it, since it'll take until next week at minimum to run in the English magazine.
Kagamigami looks primed for cancellation at this point, sadly, along with Ultra Battle Satellite.

So Black Clover jumps back up to first while Kagamigami sinks to become part of the cancellation buffer. Goddammit, I haven't been able to follow Kagamigami so I have no idea if it deteriorated or not but it still sucks.
Found Ch. 2 of Lady Justice, and yeah, the fanservice does get bumped up. I can handle it well enough, but if this is all the manga's got to offer then it's not going to last long.
Also found the first chapter of Straighten Up!, and overall it seems okay. Surprised to see it not jump into quasi-superpower insanity like a lot of sports manga like to do nowadays, but unfortunately the main couple's too cutesy for me to really carry it for me.
I must be getting old because when I see Black Clover in the top of the ranking and Kagamigami sinking lower by the week all I can think of is "Stupid Japanese kids have horrible taste."
Then that's being a Fan Hater, not getting old.

Watch SymphogearThe Seven Deadly Sins beats One Piece for the first half of the year in sales. Likely for the same reason Attack on Titan did last year - people buying old volumes due to anime popularity. I say this because it didn't do notably well per volume.
The Dance Club one looks interesting—I am hoping it lasts long enough to get an anime, for reasons that should be obvious.
