..... should I be sad that a misprint in one issue of a magazine for the bra size of a fictional character warrants a news headline page all to itself?

Issue 18:

Haikyuu!! (Cover, Lead Colour)
1. One Piece
2. Assassination Classroom
3. Toriko
4. Kuroko's Basketball
5. Naruto
Eikyū Fumetsu Devil Point (Center Colour, One-Shot, author of SKET Dance)
6. PSI Kusuo Saiki
7. World Trigger
Stealth Symphony (Chapter 6)
Tokyo Wonder Boys (Chapter 5)
Food Wars!: Shokugeki no Soma (Center Colour)
8. Isobe Isobee Monogatari
9. Gin Tama
10. Bleach
iShōjo (Chapter 7)
11. Illegal Rare (First Ranking)
12. Soul Catcher(s)
13. Nisekoi: False Love
14. Kochikame
Iron Knight (Final Chapter)

All I can say about Nisekoi's low ranks lately is that the voters must really hate Haru.

The magazine claims it's a Haikyuu!! cover, but 9 other Jump protagonists are present on it. You have three guesses on what next week's cover will look like, and the first two don't count. tongue

Issue 19:
Cover: Haikyuu!!
Lead Colour: Naruto
Center Colour: PSI Kusuo Saiki, Haikyuu!! (Extra Pages), Nemuri Netaro Arawaru!! (author of Reborn!, One-Shot)

English Issue 17:
All You Need Is Kill (Cover)
Bleach
Naruto
Stealth Symphony
One-Punch Man
Nisekoi: False Love
World Trigger
Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL (Monthly)
Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma (Special Preview, Center Colour)

Last issue, they introduced a new feature named "Nihongo Lesson", covering the meaning of "yakusoku". This week, they're covering "baka".

This week's comments.

Sucks that Iron Knight is ending.

I'm not surprised Iron Knight's getting the boot, considering it's been bottom of the barrel for a good while now.

However, I am surprised about Illegal Rare being so low. I haven't been able to read it myself (not subscribed) but I thought the general impressions were supposed to be pretty good.

The good Ruri-centric chapter should help bring Nisekoi up a bit.

Stealth Symphony seems to be doing ok. I don't think I'll read it until later though, in case it ever gets canned.

It (Stealth Symphony) continues to be interesting. As you might expect from the author, it's shaping up to have Loads and Loads of Characters.

Remember, Nura, the Illegal Rare author's previous work, was consistently last (at least towards the end of its run) and only survived due to volume sales. Even then, they removed it from the magazine early and he was made to write up the final few chapters in Jump NEXT! or one of the other irregular special magazines.

So Illegal Rare being low early on is to be expected. especially at a time like this, where the entire line-up consists of significant hits, Soul Catcher(s) and series too new to be ranked.

Watch iShōjo be ranked low too, since Jump tends to be unable to support 2 romcoms simultaneously.

They're reconsidering Food Wars! and Assassination Classroom for the magazine after the reaction to Food Wars!.

Presumably good news due to a favorable reaction. Both were left out of Shonen Jump USA because it was feared they were too spicy for American readers' mothers.

Oh, and this week's comments by the Toriko author both reveal too much information and explain the inspiration for a gag early in the manga.

  • sigh* American mothers.
Comic books, movies, games, TV series, gay rights, etc There always seem to be a bunch of "concerned mothers" ready to cockblock.

Sorry I'm late, but this was the last week before exams. On my final year. So assignments. Assignments, EVERYWHERE. I'll be similarly late next week and the week after.

Issue 20:

Nisekoi: False Love (Lead Colour)
1. Assassination Classroom (Cover)
2. One Piece
3. Food Wars!: Shokugeki no Soma
4. Toriko
5. Haikyuu!!
Kuroki Ayakashi no Gogogo (Center Colour, writer of magico)
6. Naruto
Illegal Rare (Center Colour)
6. The Disaster of PSI Kusuo Saiki
7. Kuroko's Basketball
8. Isobe Isobee Monogatari
Bleach (Center Colour)
9. World Trigger
10. iShōjo
11. Gin Tama
12. Soul Catcher(s)
13. Stealth Symphony (First Ranking)
Kochikame
Tokyo Wonder Boys (Chapter 7)

You flop, he flops, everyone's-a-floppin'! However, Jump has historically only axed 1 series, maybe two, in the rare event that they add four at once, so most of the newbies will probably survive to see another round.

Haikyuu!! sales are surging. Every volume is in the top 50 on the sales charts, like what happened to Attack On Titan (except Attack on Titan was every volume in the top 20 for the anime's entire run).

This week's cover is pretty badass.

Issue 21:
Cover, Lead Colour: Gin Tama
Center Colour: Food Wars!: Shokugeki no Soma, World Trigger, Abaremashira (One-Shot)
Absent: One Piece

One Piece gets the lead colour in the 22-23 double issue when it returns.

English Issue 19:
Naruto (Lead Colour)
Stealth Symphony
One Piece
World Trigger
Bleach
One-Punch Man
Nisekoi: False Love
All You Need Is Kill
Toriko
Blue Exorcist
Dragon Ball (Special Bonus Story)

Cover is a combination of the two Haikyuu!! covers, using only the characters who're actually in the English magazine.

Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign will run weekly until it catches up to Japan in two months. The instant that it does, volume 1 will be avalable in stores.

The special chapter of Dragon Ball is the bonus chapter in Jaco's volume release about Goku before going to Earth. There was a feature on Goku's history to go with it in the magazine.

This week's Nihongo Lesson is "Keisandōri".

This week's comments.

In regards to Gintama, it's not a popularity poll, it's a poll for which Gintama character is going to appear beside the main character Gintoki on the cover of the issue. It's framed in the same way, but it's not an actual popularity poll.
